80s kid here! I found the 90s were when it started being cool to hate on anything popular. Hence grunge and flannel and the slow spin down the bowl ever since for the most part. 80's Pop culture will never come again.. but if it does I'll there! Just my 2 cents.

Best part of the clip is when they share a hug at the end of the dance... there was true emotion between the three of them; that's a big part of why these cheesy, weak plot driven movies were successful. I watch them to this day because of the bond these three stars displayed. Great Job, people. RIP to Ozone... He was incredible; My Mother would watch the opening of Dance Fever because he danced every week... He will be missed. My Mother is also gone... life...

I loved the costumes they had for this scene.. Something tells me that this was probably the last scene they filmed for this movie and those three hugging and crying.. Those are probably real tears of joy as three under rated new actors were given one of the biggest chances of their lives. They made a movie that would be seen by millions and millions of people for years to come and were helping introduce a more open mind for dancing.
@JaybayJay3 жыл бұрын
OH.. Oh my. I didn't realize Ozone, Shabba Doo had passed. If you all want to see him in one of his earliest roles, you'll have to watch Xanadu and look for him in the final scene. I was like, "Wow! That's Ozone!"
@JaybayJay3 жыл бұрын
Wow. I just read on IMDB that -- According to Lucinda Dickey, Adolfo Quinones would often try to show her up and make her feel intimidated because of her dancing ability and their clashes within the film rang true with his personal resentment for her which was also shared by their co-star Michael Chambers. So the scene at the end where they're all hugging.. That was probably real. The moment when they finally accepted Lucinda as a dancer and colleague.. That's so touching.

A prime example on how the inner city youths have always been stigmatized by those in power, and what happens when the opportunity/chance is granted to look beyond the implicit biases. Black athletes are also a huge example of this phenomena. The Writers/Producers of this movie were way ahead of their time. I'm proud to be a contributor to this movie, and part of a movement.
