The older I get the more I side with the land developers. A mall like that can bring a TON of jobs to the community and improve the quality of life WAY more than a community center ever could. Plus they could just move the community center a few blocks down and reap the benefits of the new mall as well.

In all likelihood it would prevent a new community center from being built and possibly displace all of the people living in the area. It could theoretically cause property values to increase forcing/shutting them out. It's a tired stupid plot with issues, but this isn't one of the problems with it. Gentrification is a thing, yo!

They are destroying a community center, Glad they're creating those jobs for workers who will now have to deal higher levels of gang violence, not to mention all the people who will be out of work due to nobody shopping at their stores, and the fact that the increase in property values will end up fucking all the poor people who live in this area. Yes this movie sucks and we all like to be cynical, but sometimes the bad guy is still a bad guy no matter how poorly the movie is made.

There would be lots of kids already in the area to spend their money. Not to mention, parents who want to shop in peace could drop their kids off at the community center. The Breakin' movies are a guilty pleasure! I have fond memories of watching it with my parents and I always enjoyed the dancing and soundtrack that accompanies it. Seeing Ice T in his humble beginnings is captured well in the movie and " Go Off" is one of the best Rock/Hip-Hop songs I've heard! Thanks for taking the time to review and even though I love the movies, it's so easy to make fun of them!
