They used to use tire shaving machines on bias ply tires, because they never came out round from the factory. They are still out there, you can find them relatively cheap, Yes, it is more fun to just do burnouts, but if you are trying to hit a specific dyno number, you might want to use one of those instead of breaking your truck. It has the benefit of making the tire completely round (concentric), to eliminate any hopping that you might feel rolling down the road. The extra concentricity will also give you a better reading on your dyno, because of less tire slippage. And, since the tires are the same diameter, there is less danger of breaking drivetrain parts at high HP levels.

So I’m building a 07 dodge ram 5.9l Cummins with arp head studs and 100 over injectors and plan on ordering your 14mm cp3 but I’m new to the edge evolution cts3 I bought and it says it can add 175hp and 470tq does it really add that much I’ve never used edge I’ve always done tuning from computer.

I understand higher hp diesel don't have as big of a difference between hp and torque, but why was the torque that frigging low? I'm not hating 2000/2100 is still nuts but the torque number seems off. Is it just because of really big turbos and power coming on extremely late?

@@MrDylman55 ye no way 7k on that. Most high rpm trucks with big turbos have a close hp and tq values. Power driven diesel god father truck is close if not my hp than tq iirc. Full boost is probably after 3500 and peak torque or max ve is 1600 to 2500

Wearing down tires to help with a dyno number is pretty dumb. I’ll be happy when the diesel motor sports world stops racing dynos. Quality builds, get them tuned up! Go race and pull!

@deejo6.7 dyno is a tuning tool. They also like to chew up tires at that hp level. Some runs on the meaty tires and will be dyno tires in no time. Just saying at dyno competitions it’s a waste of a badass build. Rather see it hit the track or pull sleds.
