I can relate. After loosing a lot of weight, i completely lost my golf swing and blew out from 16 to a 22 handicap. Absolutely dejected from the game, I considered giving up, but got some lessons and kept grinding. Last week had an 81 off the stick in my club comp. Wadda game, wadda life!

How apt this video is at this time for me. I took 6 weeks off post hip replacement surgery. For the last week I have been chipping and putting again. Oh yeah baby, Matt’s back 😁 I really like your advice about assessing how your distances are on the actual day: A bit different from yourself due to your break, but over the last two/three weeks of horrible weather in Scotland I’ve been working like mad on a swing change that seems to have gained me 15/20 yards on each iron carry distance but my driver has mostly stayed the same. Finally got a round in two days ago, and on all of the front 9 par 4’s my approach shots were landing 15/20 yards beyond the green because I was hitting the same club from the same spot as I would have last month without thinking about my new yardages.

@Danaugrego2 жыл бұрын
I think what you said around the 10 minute mark is really important. Just because you’re not on your game doesn’t mean you can ruin the game of those around you. Stiffen your upper lip and have fun. Do not get upset, throw clubs, pout. Enjoy the weather, birds chirping, fresh air. Crack some jokes with your playing partners, enjoy the day, you’re fortunate to be out on the course and not trapped in a cubicle, or mining coal for a 13 hour shift.

I used to get really irritated when i played golf even though i was a bad amateur . Now i have have only played 4 rounds of pitch and putt in 2 years (first golf for 14 years) and I'm usually horrendous but just being able to be on a (ropey) golf xourse with ropey balls a half set of v ropey clubs and havinh some 5 putts doesn't matter. Anyone who can play golf of any sort is v well off and should be happy.
