If you have an iPhone and want to see if the censor pops up for you, Go to: Settings>Screen Time>Content and Privacy Restrictions>Content Restrictions>Music, Podcasts, news, Fitness Then, switch from "Explicit" to "Clean". I don't know if this works for the newest iPhones but it works for mine.

Don’t need to do that. To check just go to podcasts, then your channel and scroll though episodes and you’ll see the small boxed “E” next to the date posted or scroll down to information and you’ll see the rating is “Explicit”

@@Sole-tx9cx I reported it and in the “select the problem” area was a list of crap, one of them said “contains hate speech” so I’m assuming here I know but my guess is a lot of people have been hitting that button to complain about his content that’s not in support of various groups if you get what I mean. I looked at the rating on your podcast in Apple Podcasts. It is indeed given a rating of explicit. Whereas the whatever podcast is given a rating of clean. I checked other Catholic podcasts such as Lila Rose, Catholic Answers, Jeff Cavins and father Mike Schmitz, they are rated clean. I can’t imagine why you would have an explicit rating. I’m hoping it was an error.

There isn’t porn in school libraries, just books with sexual content which isn’t the same thing. Students have required readings of books like Of Mice and Men which depicts a character strangling a woman to death and a character being shot point blank. But if people have sex in the book it’s just too inappropriate? It seems so funny to me that Christians will not care about the most grotesque acts of violence depicted in literature but flip out over sex, the ultimate act of love. These stories are deep and meaningful, using things like sexual themes and violent moments to further it’s storytelling. Also, further sex education helps prevent abuse by allowing children to have proper language to report on abusers. There isn’t just straight up porn on shelves in libraries it isn’t allowed.

The way I see it, there isn't any rhyme or reason to this, because it's not a specific rule that's being applied evenly by a well-organized system. It's just a bunch of employees, who each have their own prejudices and biases (overwhelmingly toward leftist degeneracy), each "reviewing" a different set of podcasts. They're all just drawing from a pool. If you had the misfortune of being reviewed by the blue haired furry abortion fetishist, then you get the explicit warning. If your colleague was lucky enough to be reviewed by just your bog standard, left leaning but relatively normal tech employee, then they'll probably live to fight another day.

Yeah I mentioned this to Trent a couple of days ago via a Community post, and it hasn’t been resolved on my end. My guess is this may be a result of automatic content reporting, ie enough users report something as containing offensive material and Apple automatically responds to it before human review. This can cause issues with hate bombing, where an internet community gets content automatically restricted by flooding an automatic response system with reports that aren’t accurate. I’d suspect that this is probably what’s happening here

I think it’s more likely that the moderation team is understaffed or has a thorough review process. They probably would have to listen to a few hours of the podcast before making a call to overturn an influx of inappropriate content flags, and that takes time.

I had the Content and Privacy Restriction turned off. When enabled as instructed, the series of CoT podcasts have no warning but when if I try to play a specific episode the "Explicit" warning pops up. I'm turning off the C&PR.

I would get it if they were labelling all podcasts that deal with issues covering sexual topics explicit - but as you said, even the Whatever podcast hasn't been labelled. You do sometimes talk about some very sensitive stuff, but always in the most strictly rational, non-graphic way possible. The fact that the Whatever channel, which often brings on porn stars, wasn't labelled explicit light years before yours was, is an injustice.

I’m not getting the pop ups but it’s perhaps due to a setting I have? It does show yours as “explicit” on the whole but individual episodes are marked “Clean” (including one on sex work) For Jordan Ps channel, it shows “clean” for me

The internet was built on open standards. For example, you can send email to someone else, even if the two of you have different email providers. And if you don't like your email provider (or if your email provider cancels you), you can switch to a different provider. Podcasts used to work the same way, where podcast episodes were published via a public RSS feed, and you could use any podcast software (or even a web browser) to download and listen to episodes. That's still technically true, but with so many people using a few major podcast players (like Apple podcasts), it becomes easier for companies like Apple to favor one message over another. The ultimate solution to this problem isn't to hope that Apple, Google, Facebook, etc. will start behaving better (or to hope that a free-speech-minded billionaire buys those companies and changes their policies). Instead, the ultimate solution is to go back to an internet based on open standards. A good start that any of us can do is to download and use a different podcast app -- one that simply searches a public library of RSS feeds.

Hard news is pumped at us on platforms and apps and often opionated because of the very nature of News Services, especially the press who are featured on those platforms. It's called freedom of the press, and it's never marked as explicit..Yours is a news pod and by it's nature carries an opinion so therefore should be classified as freedom of the News..Afterall its not a Movie or Documentary to be classified by sensors
