reason why Walter punched the paper towel dispenser is that his excuse is gone. Before this, he was going through life and not living up to what he perceived to be his potential. When he got his diagnosis, he "broke bad" and started gaining power. He might have told himself he was only doing it to provide for his family, but we can tell he really likes the power, he likes being in control. He likes the world he's involved in because he is a true authority and he wields great power, no one can make meth like he can. But he's just been told that he doesn't have an excuse anymore. His whole reason for doing this suddenly vanished, he no longer has to continue, but the other side of Walt has now been revealed in the reflection of the dented towel dispenser.
@SuzakuX6 жыл бұрын
I also always took it as a response to him now having to live with the choices he made. Everything he did was under the assumption that he would die well before he had to face the consquences of his actions.
@JayReviews6 жыл бұрын
I definitely took Walt punching the dispenser as him now having to live and deal with the consequences of his actions, instead of just dying and leaving the money behind. What Enigma said is correct, but Walt doesn't even know it himself yet, or at least won't admit it. This is something that he comes to acknowledge much later in the series. I personally wouldn't have revealed this to the Normies this early on, but it's an easy mistake to make when you have knowledge of the whole series in your head already.

This episode is phenomenal. It's mostly comedy-based but it pulls you through a wide range of emotions. This is an episode where I was like, "Wait, what am I doing rooting for a couple of dudes to cook tons of meth in the desert for?" It's so odd and unusual, but the show is so well made that you can't help but become absorbed into the plotline and want them to survive their situation. I thought for sure Walt was going to die soon when he coughed up the blood, too. Then Walt punches the paper towel dispenser despite getting the surprising good news bc he realizes he has to live in further misery now...Also, one of the funniest lines- "Smoking marijuana, eating Cheetos, and masturbating does not constitute plans in my book".

I can’t stand people who spoil. I wish there could be repercussions. I got spoiled about Endgame exactly the day before watching it. I was a Senior in high school & I was literally covering my ears while walking to my morning class. The second I thought I was in the clear, I walked by my friend talking to his friend about Iron Man and my whole weekend was tainted. Thankfully I was able to half convince myself that maybe it wasn’t the case & it didn’t completely ruin my movie experience. It was the first movie I went to where everyone was cheering like a concert or sporting event, so it was still the best time I’ve had at a theater that I’d like to relive. It just sucks that I got spoiled on the ending to one of the most hyped & strategically developed film sagas of all time. Thankfully the same didn’t happen for Spider-Man: No Way Home & I really appreciated the way they handled the advertising. You could guess what would happen in certain scenes & who would be showing up, but they never outright revealed it all in the trailers. It reminds me of the way AEW handled CM Punk returning to professional wrestling in 2021.

It occurred to me that part of the reason Walt didn’t bother waiting for the doctor to explain the blotch on his scan is because of Marie’s rant about doctors’ ego and technicians being perfectly able to read the scans. When the technician refused to elaborate on what he saw and deferred to the doctor, Walt felt the staff was being unforthcoming with him, just in order to observe the protocols of some pecking order of medical personnel. This drove him to not bother with waiting to clear from the doctor in a more formal and superfluous setting which (as far as he was concerned) was meant to only stroke the doctor’s ego.

NO SPOILERS 19:09 I don't think he did that because he wanted to die, I always thougth the reason he did it was that, when the doctor told him he had terminal cancer (at the beginning of the series), he almost immediately accepted he was going to die, because the odds of beating the cancer were very low. So he started thinking, planning and making decisions having that in mind. He changed, and all the things he has done so far, he did because he was sure he will die. In fact, in this episode Saul ask Walter how much time he has and he says "weeks", also in this episode he talked to Jesse about giving the money to his family after he died. I think they did that to show the audience that walter had accepted he had no time (unlike his wife and family, who had hope). And now the doctor tells him he is in remission, that he could possibly leave for years... I don't think it is strange for him to get angry in that situation. www.livestrong.org/we-can-help/finishing-treatment/emotions-after-cancer-treatment

I my opinion the time in the desert, where they were lost and out of water, this was the most dangerous situation they have been in the entire show. Because if you think about it, sure there was Tuco and Gus and so many dagerous people they had contct with it. But you can always talk to them, deal with those people, run away from those people, kill these people. But you can't defeat nature. If they hadn't built this battery, they would have been dead. This was their only way. At any other point of the story, I think there was always another way. And even if it was to give up and go to the police.

About the green screen - I suggest slowing down the footage in the background since it might be a little bit distractive. Or at least make the transition between pictures slower. Or maybe replace it with one of those animated wallpapers (where only one part of the picture is moving slowly)? For example RV in the desert but you can only see the smoke moving. Theres surly a way to make it less distractive. Cause right now I'm focusing on the background and not on the reaction.
