What makes it so brilliant is Walter's false story is MUCH more believable than what really happened. Not only is it far more plausible that Hank did these things, Hank constantly doing freelance investigation of Heisenberg and going against orders makes him look guilty as heck. I honestly believe Walter could have gotten Hank incarcerated if he wanted to.

Jesse was looking for his dope, when he was waiting for the car. He realized Huell had lifted it from him, when he was patted-down. Then he remembered Huell having pat him down twice, around the time of Brock's poisoning and realized that Walter had him do it, so he could manipulate his fear of having lost the cigarette. Its not really mentioned how Jesse figures it out, I agree, but to binge-watchers its obvious
@Sl0wry
@Sl0wry Жыл бұрын
Jesse had already voiced his suspicions of Huell lifting the ricin off him when he went to confront Walt at his house in "End Times", except he thought Walt used it on Brock as an act of spiteful revenge against him for refusing to help. Walt's plan, of course, was to make him believe it was all a manipulation from Gus (using the "who's more likely to harm a child: me, the family father, or Gus, because of whom Tomás Cantillo died?" angle), then the reveal of the lily of the valley as the poison and the "retrieval" of the cigarette (the decoy Walt planted in his house) were enough to make him dismiss his suspicions of Walt entirely. When he realized Huell stole his pot (plus a look at his pack of cigarettes to remind him of the one where he hid the ricin), that's all it took for him to figure out he'd been right after all (by then, he'd come to fully realize how ruthless and manipulative Walt could get to achieve his ends).

Huell took Jessie's 4:20. Basically Jessie had been pick pocketed by Huell one too many times, and he caught on. It's brilliant storytelling because the viewer must piece that together. Also shows that while Jessie might be young and somewhat ignorant of certain things, he is street wise, and knows when he has been pick pocketed twice. The writers of the show don't always hold the viewers hand.

When Jesse left Saul's office and bumped into Hewell he pick pocketed his phone and pot of weed off him so when he was looking for them he realised that he had took it off him and also he had the cigarettes in his hand so he immediately thought about the risen cigarette and worked out Hewell took it. Walter wanted it to make Jesse think Gus took it to make it look like he poisoned Brock when really Walter did it with the Lily Of The Valley. If you go back to the episode where Brock gets poisoned you will see Jesse bumping into Hewell in Saul's office that's when he took the cigarette.

It’s amazing to see everything going the way it is as the series comes to an end, from Jesse figuring out that Walt had Saul get Huell to lift the ricin cigarette and poisoned Brock to then going and attempt to burn Walt’s house down only to start working with Hank to bring Walt down, especially after Hank got that DVD of Walt “confessing” how Hank was behind the whole thing. It’s quite something to see how Jesse and Hank are on the same page regarding Walt and want to put him away, especially with the history Jesse and Hank have. Great reactions guys, have a great weekend!

It's a strange thing. Breaking Bad is a show that focuses on Walter White's descension into criminality from being a good person but there is also the inverse going on when it comes to Jesse. Yes due to his life opportunities and choices he was more or less confined to cooking meth and being a low tier thug in life, but as time has gone on he's discovered a lot in terms of his own limitations, like not wanting to kill people for instance. Seeing Walt now must be terrifying because he knew who Walt was even before all this as one of his students and no doubt Jesse wonders if he is capable of being as evil as Walter has shown himself to be. The more Walt has become obsessed with building an empire and making money, the more Jesse has withdrawn and tried to separate from it.

Jesse had a massive house gifted to him, he had opportunities most could only dream of. I say this not with the intention of saying that better off people can't fall into very bad choices. I say this because Jesse is a character to show that your background doesn't dictate the outcome (in very many ways). You ever hear of Cameron Terrell? I more extreme version but, some parallels that actually mirrored in real life that idea of a well off kid getting into the "game" as it were.
@Kamenari37
@Kamenari37 Жыл бұрын
@@TheAustinKendall I made mention of this because Jesse was not even intended to be a mainstay throughout the entire show. Vince Gillian didn't intend to have his involvement being a substantial deal through much of anything past the first cpl of seasons maybe, but the chemistry between Aargon and Bryan compelled him to give Jesse a much larger role, but that's also why his background is a little bit askew given how he begins in the series to where he winds up. His house wasn't gifted to him though. Remember, he was living there because he was the only person in his family who showed up to help take care of his grandmother while she was dying of cancer. He felt entitled to the house for what he'd done for her, and his parents went along with it probably figuring it to be an easy way to have him out of their hair. It's why when he uses Saul to swindle the parents and their attorney for the house it's such a big moment for Jessee as he actually does buy it for himself leaving no ambiguity about who owns the house.
@TheAustinKendall
@TheAustinKendall Жыл бұрын
@@Kamenari37 Interesting to hear that he wasn't meant to be a main character (I'd say "God" works in mysterious ways as the saying goes). It was his Aunt (if I recall), who he cared for. Regardless though, his family was shown to have issues for sure but, they were definitely well enough off financially and in a way that is enforced by him making 5(?) different carpenter boxes (I know personally, you have to pay for the supplies). The fact his house, that his parents technically owned, was significantly more than the home they kept their younger child in IMO also goes further in showing it was a gift. A gift in death is still a gift also.
@Kamenari37
@Kamenari37 Жыл бұрын
@@TheAustinKendall Trust me, with how quickly they took it from him and gave him the boot, I doubt Jesse felt very secure living there. Entitled, most certainly, but as someone who has lived with that sort of sense of insecurity over where you are living from day to day, it's not a very peaceful existence. What may have felt like a gift to others can just as easily feel like a prison. And you're right, it was his aunt, mentally for me I registered grandmother. It's been a while since I watched through the series. And yeah in an interview once Vince Gillian stated that it was not in the original plan to make Jesse a mainstay of the series. He was supposed to simply be the doorway to Walt's downfall but with how the character was received they went back and began adding much more for Jesse to do in regard to the series as a whole and his character became much more involved in the events that unfold than was originally intended.

To help you 2 out; rewatch 14:35 and watch Huel's right hand closely. You'll see he swipes Jesse's phone from his pocket with the "excuse me" as a distraction. He was blocking the door intentionally. While waiting at the side of the road he realizes he lost his phone and the light bulb hits that his phone has been swiped. But he was holding his cigarettes and realizes that he had a similar occurrence back in season 4 and realizes that it WAS Walter who took the risen cigarette. Then proceeds the following scene. Edit: Forgot to add, Jesse also "remembers" at the side of the road that he's not supposed to be high or else the guy won't entertain his audience but his phone has been swiped. Huel made a mistake taking the wrong item.

@@ReelinwithAsiaandBJ I don't want to spoil anything for you so I'll keep it brief- Pretty much EVERY single important character from Breaking Bad is in the show at some point (Except for Skylar, Junior, Todd and the Nazis, Brock and his mom, and Ted. Everybody else in it). Gus is one of the main characters along with Saul and Mike, and there are 2 new characters that are great. They're mentioned in Breaking Bad but never seen. 1 is a Salamanca (Tuco and the twins cousin) and he makes for a villain that's equally as good as Gus, as far as villains go.

Walter had Huel pickpocket Jesse to take the ricin, so that when Walt gave Brock the Lilly of the Valley and he got sick, he could convince Jesse that Gus had given Brock the ricin. When Jesse realized the ricin was gone from his cigarette pack, he figured Gus must have gotten it somehow and used it on Brock. But it was Walt all along because he realized Gus and Jesse were getting close and the only way Walt could get Jesse back on his side was to make him think that Gus hurt Brock. When Huel pickpocketed the weed, Jesse figured it all out.

@Reelinwithasiaandbj There was a scene earlier on in the season where Walter is in Saul's office and he shows him the cigarette in a little baggy and says he can't believe he asked him to do that basically.. Jesse figures it out because he is smoking that joint in Saul's office and Saul says he can't show up high but he puts the bag of weed back in his pocket anyway. Then Huell bumps into him in the doorway and lifts the bag of weed out of his pocket, you can see him do it if you watch his hand.. Jesse then realizes while he is on the side of the road that his bag of weed is missing, figures out Huell lifted it from him, then remembers that he originally thought Huell lifted the ricin cigarette from him, and he puts it all together

But Jesse knows that Brock was poisoned by Lily of the Valley, not ricin. So Saul verified that Huell did lift the ricin cigarette off of Jesse earlier, but that doesn't mean that Walt poisoned Brock with the ricin (although we know he did use Lily of the Valley, but Jesse doesn't know that). So how can Jesse come to the conclusion that Walt poisoned Brock when he knows that Lily of the Valley was the poison? This has always confused me!

I can see people having a moment of confusion or having to think about it lol, so many things happen in the last two seasons, and if you’re binge watching the show instead of waiting months for new episodes, a lot of details go by quickly. Brock being poisoned was the last thing people saw for eight months while watching live lol

Watching this episode back…that cigarette thing makes no sense 🤣 if the hospital said it wasn’t ricin that poisoned him, who cares who stole it…and why would Walt need to steal it when he could just make another?? Huell taking his weed would not make me assume that Walt stole the cigarette not one bit

If you go back to the first episode of the last season, there's a scene where Saul holds up the ricin cigarette and is upset about what Walt did. And Walt hides the cigarette in Jesse's Roomba in the second episode, so they do cover those bases.

Hank is Heisenberg!! It makes total sense... Hank framed Hugo with the lab equipment theft to cover it up and send a messege to Walt that he can arrest ANYONE. Hank then killed Krazy8 and his cousin because they were in the way and informing to the DEA. Next Hank killed Tuco becauce he was trying to steal his cooks. Then Hank killed the Cartel snitch and planted the bomb on the turtle. This completely disrupted the El Paso office and allowed Hank to return to his power base. Hank then destroyed the RV and beat up Jesse to end a rival drug business (and to keep Jesse in line). Who is more believeable as Heisenberg: a mild mannered underachieving chemist teacher? Or a high level DEA agent with decades of connections and experience?

We can see Huell pick Jesse's pocket in this episode. On the way out the door, Huell pulls the weed out of Jesse's left pocket. However, the ricin cigarette pickpocket scene is very hard to make out. You cannot see Huell pick the pocket cleanly.
