This scene was a perfect way to show Todd's indifference to the audience. If all we had was his shooting of the kids and the scene where they hide his body, it could be argued that Todd might have regretted it later or that it was a lapse in his judgment, but this scene really shows us that in his mind, the heist went "perfect". The kid on his bike meant less than nothing to Todd.

I think it also Succeeded in showing how Jack's gang was already very wary of Mr White's history and genius and were already planning to get him out of the picture. Yes, they listened to Todd's story, but largely through the lens of fear and jealousy, so hearing Todd's story solidified and hastened their position.
@ppiorkowski15023 ай бұрын
@JApollo03 that's not true at all. Your theory makes no sense. For one they do business with Walt after this. And they also want him to come cook for them. When Walt calls them and says he's in trouble (he thinks Jesse and others are going to kill him) Jack and crew rush to the desert to help him. If anything Walt was an asset to them not a liability. Uncle Jack is not the type to think think things out. If he has a problem he handles it. No offense but saying they were listening to Todd's story through fear and weary (over Walt's genius) is ridiculous. Lydia ordered the hit on Walt. It didn't help that he was the most wanted person as well.

I love the Hooper reference and compliments here in this scene. Hooper actually was a good movie. Reynolds started appearing in a lot of bad movies right around then, and for some reason, Hooper seems to have been unfairly tossed into that heap which for anybody who has actually seen it knows it doesn't belong in the pile with Stroker Ace and Heat and too many others to name.

It's always weird seeing these people who live in the dark, temporarily existing in the light. What I mean by that is that literally they are the type of people with a dark mind, like to be in dimly lit areas, and or be at night. And because they live within a society that is still mostly light, they are forced to at some points exist within it. Like here at the diner, being normal, paying tip, talking about a hollywood action movie, being cordial with the waitress. It's weird to see the complete dichotomy of the two sides. For me I enjoy the light side, I've been around that dark side (not as obvious as in shows), and it's just dark, depressing, and I just question why. Why do these people want to live in that?
