Yes I did. Went to level 1 & 2 THX training at Skywalker in Marin many years ago. Anthony was teaching the class and Tomlinson was there too.

And the development team for Dolby Pro Logic II was lead by Jim Fosgate of Rockford-Fosgate fame, for which he earned an EMMY award. ...Not taking anything away from Anthony. He's a legend in the industry as well.

I was assuming this was a speaker system Grimani Systems installed, but he said mentioned dealers. I will have to check him out. I thought the demo process might not have done the speakers justice, a bit in organized.

What I think puts people off have a good cinema sound system is the full on set up process. I used to be very good at this but have forgotten how to now and I feel I don’t have the patience to study it again unfortunately. Sound bars help here but not nearly as good sounding as what my older system or new systems are cable of. I eventually moved back to a half decent hifi stereo system. I do miss the surround sound.

Would you choose a grimani systems home theater over Perlisten? The Storm EVO processor is a good $10,000 less than the Altitude 32. The Grimani system comes with the acoustic treatment package.

I configured my cinema according to Grimani ‘s advice and calibrated according to Obsessive Compulsive Audiophile @ocdaudiophile amazing sound reproduction. Blade Runner 2049 soundtrack was just wonderful. I so happy you got to interview Mr Grimani and show off his speakers.

Lightness to me in the speaker world means weakness., not putting down these speakers as I did not listen to them, but lightness???

@schubeedoobee @jvcalleja you would both be right if this is a passive speaker, but for active, you could eq out these speakers flat. They probably use the best and loudest drivers available, and then reduce the spl with dsp an absurd amount for flatness.

​@@jvcalleja "Lightness" or the speakers being Lightweight is ONLY an issue IF it results in unwanted Resonances...i.e. any sound that the loudspeakers produce that is not in the original input signal. The cabinet materials, internal bracing, internal damping materials, and dimensions can all be designed to create a Resonance-Free loudspeaker while still remaining lightweight. The perpetuation that "heavy weight" or "mass" is ALWAYS better for loudspeakers is simply a MYTH that needs to stop. Some loudspeaker designers/manufacturers simply resort to adding mass or making them heavier in order to tame unwanted resonances because the speakers weren't properly engineered to eliminate these issues in the inherent design from the start. Do HEAVY Headphones or IEMs ALWAYS "sound better" than lighter weight ones?

⁠headphones are a different breed...direct in ear is something totally different than a speaker resonating in free air so the example is totally irrelevant.

In good old America, home cinema products are much cheaper to buy than in Europe. Nevertheless, there are products and manufacturers in America that you cannot buy here in good old Europe. I am very disappointed. This can not be true. No No No!!!
