A little midnight release of new BB. Just saw them recently with Staind, great show, also just recently did a full album cover of Saturate so BB has been in heavy rotation for me lately. I'm an old-school fan of theirs, I really prefer their older albums, especially Saturate, but I dig their newer stuff too. This one has a pretty killer riff and some interesting guitar work with the layering and pitch-shifting and whatnot going on throughout so it immediately caught my ear and knew I had to learn it. The chorus is pretty typical BB but it's a solid song overall. A lot of familiar sounds with a little splash of innovation but undeniably another staple BB track. I also experimented with quad tracking the rhythm guitars here. I never really did that before but hey, this was a perfect song to try it.

Same. Fav albums are first two, then phobia was darker but great. Dear agony grew on me and after that was a bit of a hit or miss. I've always hoped Ben would go back to Db or CGCFAD and do an album like the first two but he seemed to find a love for B tunings and darker themes. Top five guys I'd want to meet. Been singing and screaming to his songs for 20 years and playing them on guitar here and there.
@shredhead46042 ай бұрын
Not a big fan of the chorus as it sounds too familiar to so many others etc, but most definitely appreciating the guitar work on this new song. Happy the bass isn’t as bright. Phobia and on are my favorites but still hard to say really because those first 2 albums could be tied as I dig them just as much. Phobia, Dark Before Dawn, and Ember are simply just 3 badass albums especially. Anyway great job as always Mystic 🤘🎸🤘

I’ve been asking you forever if you actually tune that guitar to drop# or if you use plug-ins/software guess I know the answer now 😔 I wish this tuning was accomplishable and able to be intonated on a 25.5. 27. Baritones are too long from my hands and I don’t have all the fancy software and plug-ins. Since I have to record on an iPad

Tell me what other song you’ve heard a solo like that on though.? lol yeah… The song is killer I just hope the production and mixing/mastering is better on this next album than on Ember because you could tell it was not as good as other albums

@@danwarzecho6901 Not a hard song to play but the challenge with songs like this is just hearing all the guitars and differentiating what is going on with a mix that makes it quite difficult to hear everything clearly. This song was not fun to learn by ear and there's parts like the lead guitar in the chorus that's a lot of guesswork on my part simply because you can't hear it clear enough to really have much confidence in the accuracy. The bass has a killer groove going on in the chorus but you can barely hear it over everything else. This is why I don't like the modern style of mixing like this. Everything is just too loud, too many layers, and too mushy. Just a wall of noise and you have to somehow figure out what each instrument is doing amidst all that noise. That's the difficult part.

@MysticGuitar772 ай бұрын
@@carlosortizjr5508 The last chorus has an inversion of the C. It's played 6-7-9 on the low strings instead of the big 2nd fret C chord which gives it the added dissonance. Didn't show this in the video since I decided to play the lead part for the final chorus.

Good to see you still posting man! I'm really surprised that your channel doesn't get more views. I was doing what you were doing but didn't nearly have as many covers. I had over 500 songs though on my page until I recently deleted them. I'm planning to record more. Have you been on Twitter much or put any work into the social media marketing of your page? I think you could really have something with it.
@MysticGuitar772 ай бұрын
I don't have any social media besides this KZbin channel really. I suppose that's probably a factor as to why I don't get more traction but I'm just not big on social media in general. I never even used Twitter or Instagram or any of those. I had a Facebook page for this channel but I don't think I even logged into it in over a year now. Social media networking is just not my thing lol.
@ShredGod182 ай бұрын
@@MysticGuitar77Nice so that means you just really love to play guitar! Not interested in the recognition so much but you're very good! I got caught up in the social media aspect of things for awhile and started feeling myself getting angry because of a lack of views despite all of the effort. Maybe I should follow in your footsteps and just say the heck with social media.
@MysticGuitar772 ай бұрын
@@ShredGod18 If you really want to grow, I suppose utilizing social media is a requirement these days. My thing is consistency I guess. I made a pact with myself a long time ago that I was going be consistent with uploads and it just gradually snowballed over many, many years after pumping out so many videos. Eventually some start gaining some real traction and pull in a lot of views. It grows but it just takes a lot of time. I could probably turn this into a legitimate job if I went in that direction but I don't really want to. I like the fact it's not my full-time job and I have the freedom to make the videos I want to make and cover songs I actually want to cover and not just doing songs I've been paid to do or ones I know will pull in a lot more views. Do it for fun and do it enough and eventually the viewers will find you.
