Yep - you have a choice to make. Either spend the rest of your life living in the past or take the future by the ass! I was like you once - but then I decided that regardless of the outcome I would take 100% responsibility for my fate. Sure, since then I have failed greatly as well as experienced some almost miraculous successes but now at 69 years of age I have no fear. Thanks to a no bullshit attitude over the past four decades I can out-run and out-lift most men half my age - and while many of my contemporaries cower at home watching daytime TV reruns I am at the gym or at the job I love (an EE engaged in new product design). OK, 2009 was a great year - that was easy - but starting today make the years to come even better. The way I see it is that even if you die in the process you didn't lose anything and at least gave it hell.

So sacrifice yourself, and let me have what's left. I know that I can find the fire in your eyes. I'm going all the way, get away, please. You take the breath right out of me. You left a hole where my heart should be. You got to fight just to make it through, cause I will be the death of you. This will be all over soon. Pour salt into the open wound. Is it over yet? Let me in. So sacrifice yourself, and let me have what's left. I know that I can find the fire in your eyes. I'm going all the way, get away, please. You take the breath right out of me. You left a hole where my heart should be. You got to fight just to make it through, cause I will be the death of you. I'm waiting, I'm praying, realize, start hiding. You take the breath right out of me. You left a hole where my heart should be. You got to fight just to make it through, cause I will be the death of you.

Neil Sprout I left it open-ended enough for someone to assume I was dogging Ben but that's not the case I would literally kill to have his voice. Lol And I'm also big fans of Corey Taylor and Adam Gontier (old school 3DG, not big on Saint Asonia), but personally I think Ben and the entire band are in a class of their own by far. Definitely one of, if not the biggest rock band of the the entire 2000s.

Probably the best acoustic version of a song I've ever heard. It maintains all of the original emotion and structure that made this song amazing, but in a clearer stopped down version- very well done guys.

With the passing of Chris Cornell I honestly think Ben has one of, if not the best "rock n roll" voice today. It would be tough for anyone to edge out Maynard but Ben is certainly up there imho of course

Dude its 2023 and no one has yet to come close. 2 people with guitars and pure acoustic in a radio stream. Still better than what 5 people can do with state of the art tech today. Benjamin Burnley is a master. ... unlike my comment #NoEditingRequired ^no editing somehow became a link to random stuff, most of which I feel like required editing. I guess I don't actually understand how hashtags work.. or maybe people are just stupid idk... either way this song has 0 editing and is just pure mastery from a pair of artists... sorry you had to read this long if you even bothered.

So many times I listened to this song, wanting to give up and end it all. That was when I was a sophomore in 2010, now I’m 29 yo and I’m glade I made the right decision because I get to come back and listen to this beauty.
