If anyone cares to read this, ive been struggling very very hard with depression lately, and KZbin recommended this video. I clicked because of the title, Dear Agony. I had never heard a single BB song before, but by the time a minute went by, I was crying and after the song was over, I somehow felt better. So I hit replay, then I hit it again. That was an hour ago and I'm still listening. Thank you Ben and God bless you

Yeah man I've been dealing with depression since I got back from Iraq over ten years ago and this song hits hard everyone I listen too it. I won't say it gets easier as time goes by, but you learn to deal with it and avoid things that will cause it. Number one thing, forgive yourself and stop thinking you're worthless. Everyone matters to somebody. Number two, just get the hell out of bed.

I hope you're feeling better as of today, keep fighting and find comfort in the things you like, one step at a time, things will get better. Other amazing acoustic versions are "Without You" and "Give me a Sign", but you should definitely listen to all their albums, I think you'll enjoy them a lot.

+Jimmy Sweeney I had the great privilege of seeing them on tour with Three Days Grace (when Adam was still leading) a few years back, and wow. Both groups were amazing, but I've always been a bigger Breaking Benjamin fan. At the show I went to, they did a great cover of Dream On that remains the best one I've ever heard. tl;dr: OP, if you ever get the chance to see them live, do it. Absolutely 1,000% worth it, and as you can tell here, yes, Ben really does sound just as incredible live as in the studio.

Same, my dad asked me if i wanted to see a breaking ben concert and i said no because most singers actually suck at unedited singing and like 2 days after it happened nearby i was listening to them and only realized that it was a live video at then end because his voice is so amazing!

This album came out while I was in the marines, I was being medivaced home from over seas and coming home to a divorce because my wife cheated on me while also getting my body fixed. I bought the album being a long time breaking benjamin fan and it hit me in my soul so damn hard. I was driving home and had to pull over to the side of the road when the words gripped my soul. In this moment I knew I wasnt alone. No matter how different our experiences may be, there is someone out there who has experienced the same as me and they lived through it. It gave me the strength I needed to push through my trials I was going through at the time. Here I am many years later doing well. But when I hear this song now I am reminded of where I came from and how hard I worked. It's a beautiful feeling!

This is the standard musicians should be held to. The man literally needs no editing to sound exactly the way he does on his records. The Autotune epidemic is a joke. REAL musicians get passed over everyday because of what's 'trendy' because of what can be done with electronic tuning. Unfortunately, it'll never turn back either, it's only going to get worse from here. We're fortunate that we still get to see musicians like this, because pretty soon, there won't be many, if any, left.
@An_Enraged_Pig5 жыл бұрын
Don't worry too much, intelligent people appreciate this kind of music, others fail.
@ducpham14785 жыл бұрын
To be precise, auto-tune is not everything in music post-processing. There're lots of different process, using various tools. Although these tools are not born to be bad, but many artists rely strictly to them and that's what make the music industry goes down hill. And yes, this is what musicians/singers need. A true talent!!

I have been listening to Breaking Benjamin since I was a little girl, because my father loved the band. I'm 15 years old now and still, I listen to their songs and it feels like the first time. They are still one of my favorite bands. I did some research on Ben-seeing as how everyone comments on the videos saying they're happy to see him doing well-and was surprised by everything I learned. Hearing this song sung acoustically and with so much emotion, now knowing all this new information, it was an entirely different experience, presenting me with a better understanding of the song, and the strong man singing it. Much props to Ben Burnley, you're truly an inspiration.

I have nothing left to give I have found the perfect end You were made to make it hurt Disappear into the dirt Carry me to heaven's arms Light the way and let me go Take the time to take my breath I will end where I began And I will find the enemy within Cause I can feel it crawl beneath my skin Dear Agony Just let go of me Suffer slowly Is this the way it's gotta be? Dear Agony Suddenly The lights go out Let forever Drag me down I will fight for one last breath I will fight until the end And I will find the enemy within Cause I can feel it crawl beneath my skin Dear Agony Just let go of me Suffer slowly Is this the way it's gotta be? Don't bury me Faceless enemy I'm so sorry Is this the way it's gotta be? Dear Agony Leave me alone God let me go I'm blue and cold Black sky will burn Love pull me down Hate lift me up Just turn around There's nothing left Somewhere far beyond this world I feel nothing anymore Dear Agony Just let go of me Suffer slowly Is this the way it's gotta be? I still don't understand how artists like Breaking Benjamin aren't even in the top 100 in the world. I guess everyone has become blind to what true musical talent really is. I've heard him perform in studio, no autotune, no electronic effects of any kind, and he sounds exactly the same as he does here and on the albums. Absolutely, in my personal opinion, one of the greatest voices and lyricist of the 2000s till now. I can argue it all day, please, someone challenge that statement if you must.
@mamaluvsherbabes10 жыл бұрын
Wow....he sounds awesome! He actually sounds BETTER than he did when he had the other guys in his band. I think the other instruments drowned out his voice...but now it's just him and his guitar...and this is a GOOD thing! His voice is beautiful...am glad he's well again...the fact that he pushed himself for the sake of his fans when he was sick demonstrates his great personal character, something which our society lacks these days. God bless his career! He has proven that he does not need the members of the former days....He is perfect just him and his guitar! :)

Just his fucking head movements on the powerful notes to make sure not to peak the mic levels or anything.... that ALONE makes him an amazing artist. Then you just add everything else in the equation and you have yourself one of the top singer/songwriters of our time. Every album is amazing and fresh, yet just like their other music. They hold true to THEIR sound that they created. I can tell a Breaking Benjamin song instantly moreso than most other music. 20 years and still going strong, I love it!

I'm assuming that's why they hardly play anything from 'Dear Agony' live ('I Will Not Bow' was the only one from that album they did when I saw them), which is a shame as that's my favourite album of theirs. I also don't think they've ever played 'Without You' live.

Well, Give Me a Sign is also one that they play live. Maybe it's because of the way those songs are composed and they can't play them live, as Dear Agony does sound like it has more guitars playing than in other songs. But that is what I think. Probably not true tho.

Everyone has a favorite song that changes from time to time. But this... This is different, this is something else. It's my favorite song for a long time, and it's going to stay that way until "Agony" finally decides to "let go of me."

Grew up to this man. Love the guy like I know him. I feel as if I do just from seeing him do stuff like this. It's more than a song, it's him reaching out as a helping hand to us in need, or its him telling his story through a beautiful song. You pick. Thank you Ben Burnley. (My dad's name is Benjamin by the way)

This song relates to my life so much. My dad hates me, my sister doesnt give a fuck about anybody and my mom has a mental health problem where she abuses people. Oh and i also sung this song at the school talent show :I i won it but it wasnt a big deal.

My son introduced me to this guys music about 4 months ago and now I'm an avid fan !! His songwriting is honest and from the soul which makes it so meaningful. Most of us struggle with expressing our emotions but Ben just opens his soul for anyone who can bare to look. This song is the first song I heard from Breaking Benjamin and it says for me what I've been struggling to express for years as I was diagnosed with MS 3 years ago and one of the worst things is to have an almost "invisible" illness. Can't wait for you guys to come to England. UK, keep up the great work !! xxxx

I would be surprised if they ever go overseas. Ben had a really big fear of flying, so they have never toured out of the US because of it.

When this was recorded I'm pretty sure he was on the recovery side of whatever his condition was and it heavily effected his voice. Ben is amazing.

I love this! Even as a successful/professional musician he is still human. That nervous breath before he started and then the sigh of relief at the end when he finished ❤️
