I would agree with you. If they can pull off a 9-11, Gulf of Tonkin, and many other events to involve us in war why would the state not be able to stand down on events with the purpose of disarming the population. I know the school tragedy is real but is it possible that the stand downs are orchestrated? In other words the cop is told even though you have evidence to stand down for political purposes. A threat on line would be evidence not hearsay. It would be different if some kid with a grudge against libels him than if he makes a threat in writing and posts it on the Internet.

I never once thought about harming someone. In fact, all I thought about was hunting & protecting my family. Kids these days are so far removed from reality because of video games and social media. I mean above and beyond what must would understand. Church every Sunday. I knew another family, 4 kids. Parents were cruel. Abuse. 3 girls, 1 boy. I believe the oldest girl and Mom k... the second girl. She wasn't allowed to eat much. She was locked out when they got groceries. She had to pee outside. They would be up till 1am cleaning, washing and folding clothes. The kids always came to me. I fed her. She liked healthy food. The little boy, would k animals. Little ones. I don't know what happened to him. They moved and never called me or came over again.. strange people.

1 any half trained professional should have told that father his kid was lying, that said, my 4 kids have had guns in there bedroom full access since age 10 they are in there 20s and never hurt anyone, when I found out they where getting bullied I taught them to fight. My youngest daughter once stomped 4 boys that thought they could gang up and take advantage of her. She left them all laying without a knife or gun both she had. She taught those boys to respect women the old fashioned way, broke ones knee anothers arm and ones nose and the first to try to punch her face, she broke his fist with her forehead. I taught all my kids to fight and encouraged them to spar on each other at home. Outside the family I don't think any of them has gotten the worst end of a fight ever.

Today, i no longer hunt due to busy life schedules and lack of available funds. And none of my 4 grown children hunt anymore. Their reasons? Same as mine. The bottom line is to raise kid's to do these things because the skill is necessary in todays world. Not only for personal safety but to be self sufficient in life. And it never hurts to teach them about our Lord and savior first of all.

Should the father be charged with the son's crime? If that's going to be the new standard, then shouldn't the leadership of the sanctuary cities and states be charged with all the crimes committed within their jurisdiction by illegals? Which is more criminal, a father that may have made an error in judgment OR a coordinated list of politicians that knowingly invite and harbour illegals within their cities/states? If we are talking about negligence that enabled a crime, shouldn't that standard apply in both cases if it is going to apply at all?

Unless they can prove beyond a doubt that the Father was neglecting his duties as a parent "No" he should not be charged. Kid's today have way to many bad influences on them, it is sad that it sometimes leads to things like this. What I would like to know is if the kid was being bulled at School what where the parents and School doing about it..... And after the sheriff showed up why was there not mental evaluation done to see if the Kid was in mental destress the school could have done this and advised the parent's. If it was me and the Sheriff showed up with these allegations against my son the guns would have been lockup from there on out and we would have had a long talk about this. So is that neglect on the fathers part for not doing that who is to say, he probably thought like most parents my Kid would never do that .

From my perception, the child "Colt Gray" was clearly lying... based on the fact he wasn't making eye contact, pacing back and forth on each foot, and the fact he wasn't in shock when the Police accused him of making the threats... Anyone who hasn't done something , then accused of doing it will be in shock, and ask what ? are you kidding ? ( in complete shock something like that would be asked of him ). The father shouldn't be charged with the same crimes as the son. Wreck less negligence perhaps, but not murder, etc.

Shared to X. Colton should have had a risk assessment done by a professional psychologist. My wife works in the school district. Does those types of risk assessments on it weekly or monthly basis. They put in plans to help these kids who have mental illness. This happened because somebody didn't take the risk seriously enough. However when you have warning signs and cop showing up at your doors talking about a school shooting that this kid toasted, and then for him to still have access to guns and ammunition then that is the Father's responsibility and it is partially his fault he should have had absolutely no access to weapons after that police visit

However, i do think the charges against the father are excessive. The boy, as i understand, is being charged as an adult. With that said, he bears most of the responsibility of that crime.
