I don't know, I find it hard to question the recruitment foresight with Nkunku. I mean, he was set to be the 10, picks up a long-term injury, then we go out and pick up Palmer. I'd say it was just a really unfortunate situation rather than poor recruitment foresight.
@thandilegaleni188019 сағат бұрын
This season we've played Nkunku 10 against lower teams and he didn't impress at all. He doesn't move the ball like play makers he doesn't balance midfield with attackers he is more about himself than the team. I'm not sure maybe he performs better when the team depends on him for special moments like Palmer. However, at Chelsea he hasn't done enough to earn that spot. The situation is spooky scary 🤯

Nkunku seems to be another "Kai Havertz". When he plays as a striker, the performance is not satisfying and someone suggests he shd play as a 10. But when Chelsea play him as 10, he does not impress us at all, even facing low league teams. The loop goes on.

The board went to buy palmer thinking he’ll be the 2nd option from nkunku but it looks like palmer took the opportunity and became the nailed on player for that position and now nkunku became a second option but since he’s a big player being a second option doesn’t suit his class and there’s no way palmer was gonna be dropped so it was either he plays striker which he can’t or leave
@navs43219 сағат бұрын
Nkunku was brought in as our No 10 , but his injuries coupled with Palmer extraordinary rise has meant he cannot be played at that position over Palmer or even Felix .Cause he is more suited for a counter attacking style of football with him behind a big striker in the number 10 role .Plus also Nkunku also may not be suited for the physical demands of the perimeter league .

I think you have a very cynical and unfair view of the sporting directors. In regards to.Nkunku, he is a ten, a pure ten and those same sporting directors happened to buy the best number 10 in the world for £40 million, that’s the only reason he doesn’t fit any more. It’s not a lack of long-term vision. Be fair.

If the swap ends up costing Chelsea very little in terms of immediate capital outlay, which seems very likely, and we end up paying lower wages for tell to do the same job we were going to have in cuckoo do for the rest of the season, I think it allows us to still go for a top veteran striker over the summer while still having at least some cover for Nico through May. Chelsea have needed another striker for a while now. Jackson converts 1 in 3/ 4 chances. He is also a left winger. If Mudryk is gone and we have another striker. I think what we are doing is genius. Great up side for the business, manager and players. Anyone in the 2nd team is up for sale unless they break in to the first team. Enzo and Noni are the perfect example. They’ve both lost their spot putting them on the market, but Enzo fought in the right way to become a very important player for the first team. We buy only huge potential young players. If we sell, we put favourable clause in. Some shine early such as Palmer, others take a little longer like Caicedo and Cucu. But all buying clubs know that the players that haven’t broken through yet are available for sale and have huge up sides. Players know if I go to Chelsea I’m apart of something huge. Once I’m there my name blows up. The player is apart of elite young players who will help them become better in a like for like age profile. If they don’t break the first team like Veiga or Casadei they will still have an array of options and good salary packages to choose from. The manager has an array of talent to choose from in training. Only the finest young talent around the world. Players who have been hand picked by the best scouts in the world. This is the simple version.

If we are not getting a marquee 9 it’s downgrade. Nkunku, as agreed by even Enzo M himself is one the purest scorers we have in the squad. I’m just a Varsity coach, so in my world, when I have 2 players that get me more goals than my striker (in addition to my striker) l change my system to accommodate them. That means 2 number 10’s behind my striker 3-4-2-1 or 4-1-4-1. We simply don’t have enough goals from anywhere else to lose scorer like Christo. Playing with 2 number 10’s allows us to rotate Palmer/Nkunku/Felix that’s a scary combination and I dare teams to double team Palmer in that situation then. This is not a slight on Enzo M. Just my 2 cents/pennies. Thanks

Maresca wasn't the manager when we bought Nkunku. He doesn't fit the manager's style of play. So it makes sense for everyone for him to go. He wants to go as well, it's not the club ditching him. The only way out of this cycle is keeping the manager for a long time and recruiting to his style. And making sure future managers require the same profile players for their style. If you don't do both of these things, then the cycle goes on.....
@Kylecfosterr5 сағат бұрын
Nini, this has nothing to do with the SDs' lack of foresight. First of all, Nkunku was signed as an 8/10 to replace Havertz under GRAHAM POTTER. He was not a 10 or even a 9. He was supposed to play in the LHS in a 3-4-2-1 under Potter. Well, Potter gets the sack, and then we go to Poch, Poch then turns Cristo into a full 10, Cristo then gets injured, and his backup in Carnz comes in, well then 2 games later, Carnz gets injured, and we then take a massive gamble, and shell 40M on an unproven commodity in Cole Palmer, and in my opinion, Cole was signed as a RW/CAM not a CAM/RW, Cole was originally signed to play the Eriksen "false winger" role that Eriksen did amazingly at Spurs. Well, once again, fast forward, and Cole evolves into the best player in the Prem and is undroppable; as he continues to get better and better, he starts to take over the 10 role more than the RW. You cannot drop Cole for Nkunku even with the class Nkunku is, Cole is better--Cole Palmer is the face of Chelsea Football Club. And even if somehow Joao was not here (Joao was signed for PSR purposes so I get it) Nkunku still would be complaining about game time as he would be Cole's backup in the squad even without Joao Felix. Remember we originally tried to sign Samu and not Joao Felix, Samu would have been the natural backup to Nico and Cristo would be the natural backup to Cole. And like I said earlier Nkunku still finds himself in the same issue as before. As for the Nkunku-Tel swap, this is perfect. Regardless of what Maresca says to the media, I highly doubt he has 110% faith that Nico will be the long-term 9 to lead the line, Tel is the profile of a player that not only fixes the short-term issue at LW (Misha's ban) but gives us a serious potential ST that could be the LONG and I mean LONG term solution at ST for this club, Tel is a player that even if you have the slightest bit of confidence to sign, then you go after him. Last part--As a club, unless something seriously changes with BlueCo's vision, we will never be the club that shells out $100+ million on players at a time who are "proven players" we went all out on Enzo Fernandez bc Boehly wanted him at all costs, we did it with Caicedo because we had no player to play CDM and Brighton essentially controlled the market and narrative; we were never going to pay "our price". To the fans and people that cry for us to go by 27+ year olds in their prime that will cost 80M+, it is never going to happen under our new ownership--we want to be the "next players" for cheap then develop them into those 80M+ players. Just because Veiga wants out already does not mean in the slightest that this model is a failing model or that it does not work, Veiga wants out to play CB not because of lack of game time.

Mathys Tel won't leave FC Bayern München. I highly doubt it after multiple statements of the management planning with him for the future. This is still an incredibly young man. I don't understand why Chelsea would want Mathys Tel? They need a center forward... Nkunku to FC Bayern München majes a lot of sense. We lack a central attacking player coming from the middle area. Our wings are already outrageous with Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala as offensive all-rounder that plays up there whetever he pleases. Nkunku has shown he can score when trusted in the Bundesliga. Plus....Bayern München is somewhat deeply connected to frensh football.... Ribery, Lizarazu, Sagnol, Coman, Papin, Olise, Tel etc - they seem to do quite well in Munich. It is no secret that we need someone besides Harry Kane and. Jamal Musiala to finish the 20+ chances the team creates to just score one goal😂 Tel knows that the Fans love him....the management is clear on promising him a bright future. We all know how talented he is ..and his German is also quite advanced. He signed s long term contract....he is the player that will take over when Kane leaves the Club...he is still incredibly young... again....im FC Bayern München Fan or follower since 1987 and i would be surprised when Bayern München lets Tel go already after two years...

It is ironic to think that Chalobah is worth 20 mil and Guehi 60mil according to palace what a joke....most clubs think that Chelsea is the club that must get ripped off, how much did they buy Guehi from us then?????? Jokers

Why would nkunku want to sit on the beach?? can we blame the board or maresa when Cole Palmer way better than him? didn't we try nkunku at lw? Where did that get us? Is he better than madueke or Neto at rw? Is he better than Jackson at st?? We got to cut out this emotional ties to some players. Nkunku ain't all that and we all know it.

I can understand why youre disappointed about nkunku nini because you wanted him even before chelsea bought him. BUT dont forget cole palmer was brought to replace an injured nkunku.. i cant blame chelsea on this one, who and where in nkunku playing in this squad? Hes not needed here when cole, jackson and even felix are currently better than him.

False. Both players were brought at the same time as part of the future. Nkunku was more high profile and more proven as the big buy. Somebody as lethal as ku who has barely had a few months to play should be never be sold this fast. It's insane

Bro, I think it's time you accept that recruitment is dynamic and not linear. This is what you say about other things in football; i.e. player development. So many factors to consider: injury, drug ban, player wanting to move, coach not preferring the player, other clubs sniffing, etc You can't exactly fault them for being opportunistic. Like the coach, spanners are being thrown in the works all the time. I'm not saying directors job are as hard as the coach. I'm just saying you can do all the homework in the world (as you should) but you can still be thrown off by factors you cannot control.

Guys, let us use the money of the sale of Nkunku to bring no one other tha Delap to help Jackson up front. We are currently linked with many names which is good but the reality is to consider thi Delap man who in my opinion would have put almost all the chances we had today. Bring him in and the ship will be steadied and we will start to climb up the table, my opinion.

Nkunku needs a striker to play off of. He’s never really had that at Chelsea other than a preseason when he was paired up with Jackson. Wish him well. It was an unfortunate spell at Chelsea due to the injuries. Like most injury prone CFC players, he’ll probably go on to have a solid injury-free career somewhere else if he goes. 🤦♂️

Kicked out? Both players mentioned have asked to leave. They both have had plenty of minutes. There has been rotation. Other than Bornmouth what has Nkunku done on the league? Missing penalities and chances in the conference league and cups hasn't exactly made him look like a world beater.

I'll take Tel over kolo Muani anyday of the week. The psychology of footballers smh. Nkunku is being benched by Cole Palmer. Does he think he's gonna bench Musiala? Lol....crazy man. But hey if hes unhappy sell him...
