In the books, it wasn't just Alice that Aro coveted...it was also Edward. Aro can only read the people he touches. If Edward was at his side, he can touch Edward and read all the minds Edward is reading. He also wanted Alice's visions, and after seeing Bella's shield wanted her as well. Marcus said "finally" during his death in the vision because his mate had been killed long ago, and he's wanted to die ever since.

@@kiebr8766 Yeah. But there's another vampire in the Volturi called Chelsea (she wasn't shown in the movie). She's loyal to Aro and she has the power to control emotional ties between people/vampires. She used her powers to keep Marcus from killing himself and staying loyal to Aro.

33:34 Just a little explanation for Marcus' "Finally" when he noticed his death: he had been wanting to die ever since he lost his late wife, Didyme! She was Aro's biological sister and had the power to make people around her happy. When they formed the Volturi clan, Marcus and Didyme ended up falling in love and getting together, but they ended up becoming unhappy with the way their clan was going and were planning to run away together. When Aro discovered their plan, he pretended to give his blessing and killed Didyme because Marcus was too important to his plans to lose him due to his power to read the emotional bonds between people, helping to discover which vampires from rival clans were not close to each other and thus induce them to abandon their clans and go to the Volturi's side, since he sees not only romantic relationships, but also the bonds of family and friends, loyalty and devotion. When he discovered his mate's death he became completely apathetic, expressionless and indifferent about everything in existence and was willing to abandon Aro, however he used the powers of another vampire from the Volturi guard to keep Marcus loyal to them, without him knowing. Despite this, he becomes animated in the presence of people with strong emotional ties such as Bella and Edward and defends them on several occasions during encounters with the Volturi, possibly because their love reminds him of the love he once had with Didyme.

1. In last scene bella removes her shield for edward to read her thoughts for few moments!! Which he couldnt all throughout the series.. but always wanted to!! 2. The reason Aro (volturi leader) called edward was because edward heard everyones thoughts and thus he could know everyone's thoughts too. 3. Bella's shield in books covered everyone at one go!! Jane and all were attacking even when they were talking.. bella protected them all with shield!! 4. The fight doesnot happen in books.. but the conversations are interesting too!! That would be boring in movies.. so this fight twist was awesome!! The movie hall went crazy when carlisle head was shown.. he is one of the most loved characters!! And the hall went crazy again when it was just alice vision revealation!! 5. Kristen kudos for guessing alice vision concept!!

@@kiebr8766 yeah.. No fights.. Volturi came with layered strategy to initiate a fight .. 1. Renesmee is immortal child 2. Killing irina 3. Asking the witness and creating differemces 4. Renesmee is unknown case so dangerous And while they were discussing this.. The others in volturi started silent attack.. Jane with pain attack.. alec with confusing smoke.. There was one who could loosen the emotional bond.. But none of the attacks were successful because bella shielded everyone.. Her shield was like a dome covering each one of them.. She kept it hidden from edward too so that Aro couldnt read from his mind.. She knew aro would call edward only! After alice came.. Aro said there isnt any risk only because volturi never had fought fair fight.. They(Volturi) would always win as the bonds were broken and everyone was confused with smoke and pain already so easy to kill.. But here this time they all were fit and ready to fight.. And shapeshifters.. The witness volturi brought to see the justice also started doubting the power misuse.. So they had to step back!!

50:57 I saw the premier in 2012 & I wanna start off by saying that the whole fight sequence is an add on. It’s not there in the books! In the book, Jane & Alec try to attack everyone, but Bella shields them all, so Aro soon realises that they stand no chance against Bella and her shielding power. He then tries the “Renesmee is a threat to our kind” narrative & that is when Alice & Jasper come in with Naheul, the half vampire, half human person to prove she’s harmless & that is how it ends..Aro is threatened that the Cullen Coven is growing stronger by the day with many gifted vamps(Alice, Edward, Bella and now Nessie) plus their liaison with the Wolves(both Sam’s pack & Jacob’s pack) and may return again to fight with them. We were so confused when the fight started since it’s different from the books & Carlisle’s beheading came as the biggest SHOCK. THE WHOLE THEATRE ERUPTED AND WE WERE ON OUR FEET! Followed by loss of Seth Leah and others, it was pure CHAOS. Finally the vision scene calmed us down but most of us LOVED the new ending!

Also, the reason the baby was cgi was because they wanted Renesmee always to look like Makenzie Foy. So they took her face and deaged it and cgi it on kids at different ages. It also helped when a baby was being filmed and started to be fussy, they could just use another baby and the baby wouldn’t look different. I hadn’t got to the part where u realized why they use cgi, but I’ll just leave this here anyway😂

I understand why people who haven’t read the books think it’s lame that the fight sequence at the end was a fake out and turns out to be a vision, but imagine what that was like for the book lovers. that fight is not in the book AT ALL. so we all sat in the theaters literally screaming when they kill Carlisle and were like WHAT DID THEY DO! 😂 amazing plot twist when you think you already know what’s coming
@AshLee92490
@AshLee92490 Ай бұрын
Yeah, I was gonna comment, "Non book readers don't really like the fake out, but the book readers do" lol. I mean, the whole scene is ery anticlimatic in the book because the books are in Bella's perspective (beside her pregnancy, which is from Jacob's), so we never actually never get to know what Alice showed Aro. For the movie, they HAD to give us something or even more people would be mad about all of that buildup to the big confrontation only for some conversation, the Denali sister's death, Vella shirlding everyone, Alice shows up, Caius being Caius, the grown hybrid shows up, Aro decides to leave things be, and everyone gies home lol.This was a perfect plot twist of allowing books fans to get a surprised (traumatic) twist while still keeping the original ending. Sucks because the non book readers think it's a cop out but I always have to tell them. Just take Alice's vision out, and that is basically how it transpires lol. Bella being a silent badass as she's shielding everyone while Jane & Alec are trying to get through her shield before Alice shows up lol...

In the books, the final showdown is a mental standoff between the Cullens (mostly Bella) and the Volturi. It concludes without a physical fight, it's mostly a mental fight between Bella's shield power and the Volturi's attack power. In the end they retreat because they're afraid of Bella. Adding the vision fight scene to the movie was the only way to have an epic ending, without rewriting the ending of the book for the movie. I think most people were upset there was a fightscene at all, not becaue it turned out to be a vision. But they had to give the series some sort of cool ending for the general public, and this was the only way to do it without pissing everybody off.

When I think of a “Werewolf”, this is what comes to mind. One of, if not the best, designs for a werewolf ever made was in Van Helsing or the Underworld.I dont like twilight werewolves for one reason the wolf form is just uncreative. They’re just shapeshifters who can turn into man sized wolves. Although there are normal werewolves in Twilight who I think are called Children of the Moon (or something along the lines of that.).

Take note that the book was in Bella's POV... so imagine the surprise and collective gasps from everyone in the theatre when Carlisle was beheaded!! I was crying, people were crying from that battle coz no one expected it, especially the book readers. It made sense for a movie standpoint to add that in, else it will not be as exciting. Literally, people were screaming and outraged until it was revealed that its just Alice's vision. The meadow scene was another movie add in. It was never in the book that she was able to make Edward read her mind... so it was a sweet flashback montage for people invested to this story for years. Imagine being a vampire for hundreds of years and have the ability to read people's mind, then there's this someone who for some reason you are unable to, fall in love, get together for years, and finally was able to peak into her/his mind. The ups and downs, happiness and sorrow, beauty aand ugly parts of it and still stayed.

in the book there's no fight, just an intense conversation e Bella shielding while jane trying to attack, so it was more like "silent fight". It's cool that they did that fight in the movie 'cause it shocked everybody and it's something we were not expecting.

I didn’t cry during the end credits. But, I did notice Tyler Crowley, played by Gregory Tyree Boyce was missing. Even though I noticed the character’s absence since the 2nd movie, I still expected him to receive some recognition. His character was one of Bella’s friends and he was the reason she became suspicious of Edward.

🍎🐺 1) I don't know if you should feel cheated because beloved characters didn't actually die. This ain't GOT. 2) 🐾 Imprinting here is not just a one way street. Renesmee also imprinted on Jacob having heard and felt his presence while she was still in the womb. He unknowingly became her "Baby Mozart" so to speak, especially in the latter stages of Bella's pregnancy when Renesmee developed an advanced consciousness.

From an article about the battle scene "The entire confrontation at the end of the movie plays out completely differently in the book, in fact, it’s rather peaceful, all things considered. Everyone is prepared for a fight, with Renesmee already on wolf-Jacob’s back prepared to flee if need be. But Alice and Jasper arrive just in time to defuse the tension with their witnesses. There’s no vision of a deadly (albeit, badass) battle mentioned, instead, Aro backs off after noting the disadvantage he has due to Bella’s shield." Honestly, when a movie does a thing that improves on the book, i applaud them. Obviously, they leave out so much from the books but when they make an addition that makes it more interesting, i think they've made a wise decision, because let's be honest, if you sat through this movie series only to be left with little to no confrontation with the vulterie it truly would've been boring. They didn't have to commit to those losses in the movie because they didn't happen in the book. I think they did a great job with that scene. It makes up for the horrible cg baby😅 of course this is just my opinion.

Yes, I cried. As someone who followed the movies and the books so avidly… getting those flashbacks~ it was like saying goodbye to an old friend and letting go of an era. Like when the Harry Potter films ended, we as a generation- invested so much time and money, and have gotten attached to these characters and this story for so long.. and just having something to look forward to year after year. Then coming to theaters to see what happens next for the last time. It’s an experience you’ll never get again. So for it to be over for good.. that little montage- it was nice to look back and reminisce before truly saying ok wow this is it, there will be no more after this. Time to move on now 😭

@CineDesi COULD NO AGREE MORE WITH WHAT YOU ARE SAYING STARTING HERE 42:32 !!!! I loved reading these books and I hated on them but then our power went out and my roommate freshman year of college let me borrow the books. And I instantly got sucked in. I thought there were so many interesting concepts with all of the supernatural stuff, the different factions, the different characters and their relationships….but because it was sooooo stuck in being a romance book series it completely held it back. Had she had some more balls and perhaps more experience writing sci fi, horror, action, fantasy, etc the story could have gone in so many cooler directions. I also thought that they should have explored characters pasts in flashbacks way more! It’s not like it is bad by any means it just left a lot to be desired if that makes sense. As someone who is into all supernatural stuff and super power stuff I just think that had she not been so focused on hurrying up and getting them married so they can have sex and instantly having a baby because god forbid you have sex for pleasure. Sorry just hating on the weird Mormon stuff she endured the book with all the anti-choice/pro-life, abstinence until marriage, and sex is for procreating stuff. But because of the little bit of supernatural stuff she did have in there was different and interesting I enjoyed it…mostly because of my imagination for all what could have been if that makes sense. I do enjoy this franchise and is one of my cozy films I like to put on when I’m not feeling myself…something about the soundtrack, characters, and gloomy yet beautiful scenery just makes me feel all warm and cozy.

Jacob and renesmee imprinting. The roles for the two people in the relationship can change depending on the situation. And no matter what role fate gives them, both parties' feelings are completely genuine. So because Renesme is half human and half vampire she matures faster than humans do physically and mentally. In 7 years after her birth she’ll reach full maturity and will stop aging. And during her years growing up she matures faster each day. To be honest she could learn everything about the world on her own. Only thing her family can do is protect her. So as a kid Jacob will be her protector. In her late teen years Jacob will be her friend. And when she becomes a full vampire they’ll be something else. Fate will tell them which roles they need to be. And each time it’s they both are completely genuine about the roles they were given. Also as long as Jacob keeps shifting into a wolf his human form will never age. So he can live as long as Renesme does. A lot of fans confuse this relationship with grooming but it’s actually not. Because of the type of being she is she LITERALLY can’t be manipulated. And like I said, each role is completely genuine. Jacob’s not attracted to her when she’s a kid and he’s not gonna raise her either. When fate guides him to be a protector he genuinely feels like a protector. When fate guides them to be friends they’re genuinely going to be friends. And when fate guides them to be something else they really are in love. They know they end up together but they don’t focus on that. They just focus on what they need to do currently.

Sorry but this is grooming in my opinion. Thank you for your explanation, and trust me when I say I don't want to be rude or argumentative with anyone. BUT if you remove the magic/vampiric situation it is very wrong. A grown up being in a child's live as an uncle / friend of the family and later being a romantic partenaire, after wooing her mother for years... Yeah, no. Ok it's a book and everything is supernatural. The problem is it's aimed at young people and it give them a lot of twisted view about love and romance, when in fact it's abusive and grooming. In the real world, lots of survivors were called mature for their age and were being "protected" (and then bedded) by a father figure. If I met Renesmée in real life, I'll call CPS and you should too. I recommand the youtube channel "Cinema therapy" and their breakdown of the Twilight saga. It's done by a therapist and a filmaker, it's very informative and funny without being judgemental.
@Ts-lz1gj

@@charlotteinfj4412 ok first off definition of grooming is older party having power dynamic over a younger one one. Teaching, cultivating, for their own purpose. It’s toxic. Except there is no dominating factor in this situation. First Jacob is not going to teach or raise renesmee or anything else like that. For starters based on the other vampire half human guy he stated that during his birth “the vampire killed my mom”. So A. He doesn’t refer to his father as his father just him saying he was a vampire. B. He said that his mother died. Which means no one taught him anything. He taught himself And because of Renesmee's growth rate and how quickly she learned the piano in the matter of minutes it means she learns extremely fast. Can’t be manipulated or anything else. As for Jacob like i said, he’s not attracted to her as a kid, and is not just waiting around for her to get older. They both just focus on who they are currently and that’s enough. They he not gonna do anything that wouldn’t healthy or good for her. That includes trying to manipulate her. It’s also started that wolves have to honor what the imprinted wants. And as the for the age gap there are a lot of sci-fi and supernatural stories that have characters who are in a relationship but are at different age groups. In young justice superboy is 16 weeks old and has the mind and body of a 16 year old. Megan is 48 earth years old but has the mind and body of 16 year old because her species matures at a different rate. And they’re together. Red arrow is like 3 years old and has the mind and of 18 year old. It’s no different than a dog turning one in human years before them they’re adults. It’s circumstantial because Renesmee and Jacob aren’t exactly him so they’re relationships wouldn’t compare that much to human relationships. Stephane Mayer made a bold and creative choice. But its not grooming. She literally took out anything that could deem it as toxic. The only choice that could say was bed was giving the books to pre teens because their mind aren’t fully developed. But that’s something that most writers do like with Coraline.

@@Ts-lz1gj Jacob and Edward have a discussion about if he should call him dad now that he had "imprinting" on Renesmée. They already talk like father and son in law. She is a baby. A baby. She can't change her diapper or feed herself no matter how smart she is. Your definition of grooming is exactly that. The age difference is huge, he wanted to go all the way with her mother. He could be her father, literally. And now she has a baby, he is here all the time in every plan with her daughter as a "protector". Imagine holding a baby (your ex's baby) and one day be intimate ? You can have dragon, magic, vampires, everything you want. It's fiction but we as readers, watchers, we live in a world where this "love" story looks a lot like grooming. In fact I believe a list of red flag have been made for survivors with bullet points taken directly from Twilight. I am sorry we have to disagree. You are entitled to your opinion as others who enjoy these movies. As I am, and while I can enjoy some aspect of Twilight I cannot unsee the toxicity of their relashionship.

@@charlotteinfj4412just want to say that Jacob asking Edward if he can call him dad is a movie thing. Never happened in the books. Also want to say that Jacob really has no choice in this relationship. He imprinted on Renesmee and she has the whole power in this situation. If Renesmee decides that she never wants to be with Jacob and that they should stay friends (or never want to see him again, which she can very much do) Jacob will have no choice but to accept and suffer physical pain in silence.

@@tealhiid Thank you for this info from a book reader perspective. While I understand the fiction part and how it can be explain in the world of Twilight, my point was how it reflect on our view of the world. I have been SA, I have seen a friend being manipulated by an older man who abused his authority. I can make parallele with real life events. From my perspective, this is grooming and an abusive relationship if you remove the "supernatural" parts. I cannot unsee it. My skin crawl when I hear or read of this being a great love story. Again, just my opinion. Good for you if you enjoy the movie completely. But seriously in real life call CPS if you see something like it.

There was no fight scene at all in the books so imagine my shock and horror when Carlisle's head be shown... I was so pissed! And no they didn't change it to a vision because they didn't want people mad, that's how the book ends that conflict. She shows Aro the vision, then they show the vamp from the tribe who is exactly like Regurgitate... but I feel they felt they needed a fight scene and needed to show us what the vision was in a real time type of way or else the whole story of the buildup of the conflict would be meaningless... In a book you can sort of get away with that because books have ways to make moments more suspenseful with telling how a character feels and such... But transforming a book into a movie is hard because there isn't that inner dialog of character strife and human emotion. Or just the writer kind of tells you what each moment feels like to each character so there is no guessing, but in a movie that is hard to convey on screen....
