As Ben Franklin said, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The best way to fight fire is with prevention. Once the conditions have been set and a fire breaks out, it's a matter of damage limitation to whatever degree possible. They made the excuse that the fire hydrant systems aren't capable of keeping up with so many fires at once, so that makes preventing these fires becomes of the utmost priority.

It would be much less devastating if we were proactive and remove the fuel from the forest that causes these huge wildfires. There is a debate on climate change but not withstanding climate change you think you would at least take the time to try to mitigate the damage from what you call is climate change with preventive maintenance of the forest. This would be a good job for our youth. Remember the Peace corps. Perfect for our youth to enlist and learn about proper Forest management. It's a no-brainer. It used to be this way when I was a child we never had these enormous wildfires because we had proper Force management.

Many years ago in 70's and 80's these forests were well maintain and dry brush was removed or they had controlled fires to mitigate spread of future fires. Then came the so called global warming crowd, and now climate change crowd. But fires have been happening for ever. They happen for whatever reason you want to believe they still happen and still cause damage. So this is nothing new, but some enviromental groups think letting nature take its natural course is correct. That may be OK if its not near a highly populated area but it becomes a disaster when people and property are involved. How many examples do we need before common sense takes over.

Gov. Gruesom Newsom has destroyed Calif. We do not feel safe in our homes. He has mismanaged our plentiful water supply, sending river waters to the ocean that could help farmers and send water to reservoirs in social.
