If our Pass Rush gets centered around Jalen Carter and his ability to absolutely wreck the pocket we could be back to those crazy record breaking team numbers. Give him a "route" that is designed more to open a gap in the defense that another guy can fly through and make the play, then alternate that with juat letting him pin his ears back and get after it. Gonna have teams stressing all game at the O Line. We just gotta stop the quick pass game

Between Carter making the ridiculous leap on to year 2 + the possibility of Davis making the usual leap for DTs in year 3 and what I hope is Sauce and Surtain rookie season for Mitchell outside and DeJean in the slot will be an almost complete no fly zone. I'm still worried about the LBs & Vic's new for the team system but between DeJean, CJGJ & Maddux's versatility I think this group of DBs with Slay and Mitchell on the outside make me ever so excited for this season and the future. This draft seems almost the polar opposite of skipping Jefferson (which in full disclosure, I supported at the time, the book was he was a slot guy only in the NFL, per poopy-headed draftniks and ) then drafting JJ Arthega in round 2 over DK Metcalf. Sure Benny Sols (@BenjaminSolak) went on about Metcalf as an athletic freak ,but he really did talk up JJ as a contested catch guy. So Ima gonna blame him for JJ over Metcalf. anyway we know the offense is going to be good with Hurts, AJ, Smith , Goddert ,AND Saquon behind this OL but with how I expect this secondary to perform unless you TE is Kittle or Kelce you are going to get shut the F down. Your TE better be ELITE to get past CJGJ or you aint getting Shit with Cater rushing your QB and Davis shutting down you run. Sure my Homerism is showing home before camp but good lawd you better bring that heat. those of us that were remember 2017 training camp and how thoroughly abused the defense got whooped. Turned out that defense was pretty good/good enough and the offense was just stellar, to the point where vs. Denver the announcers called us a 'professional scoring operation'

No, he absolutely was dominant. He won his pass rush reps at a higher rate than any rookie DT since Aaron Donald. And he actually did have a higher win rate than Donald had his rookie year. Unfortunately, due to being apart of a terrible defense, Carter wasn't able to benefit in terms of production. If he was part of the 2022 team, he probably would've had 12 sacks.
