Well, he also needs to perform in big clutch moments. Mike Trout is one of my favorite players (in fact, I'll tune into Angels games just to see him hit), but everytime there are important at bat with RISP, he doesn't come through. In fact, I don't remember a time where he has pulled through. At bats like him striking out against Ohtani are struck in my brain. You don't get that with guys like Corey Seager, Freddie Freeman, Juan Soto, and the other elite MLB players. So, yes the Angels need to be better, but Trout is part of that. Ron Washington is doing big things to improve the team.
