Eli Lilly needs to have regulations on how much they can charge. Hopefully US will get on board and not allow this price gouging in our country.

There needs to be an 800 phn number that a pharmacy ca call and enter a 3-5 digit code that automatically logs an unbiased report of a medication that is in short supply. Sort of a checks and balances method of accountability!

It makes no sense how hard insurances fight to not pay for these meds. In the long run they will pay more for health related issues that will show up later

So we live to breathe another day (maybe). I appreciate knowing that if anything has changed in the world of GLP1 drugs (and it seems to change almost daily), I'll likely get that news from you first. Compounded tirzepatide is literally my lifeline. When it is no longer available I don't have a Plan B to fall back on. I didn't respond to semaglutide, at least at their starting dose. I often tell my husband that I wish I would have been born 50 years later, since being a newborn in 2003 makes me twenty-one years old today, which would have meant having time on my side. Thank you for the outstanding service you do for our community.

Sad that the insurance companies would rather pay for the effects of poor health than the cost of medication that would prevent the problems. It's extremely short sighted.

Dave, have you heard that some of the compounders are now offering smaller doses of the drugs. Like instead of 15 mg they are offering 11.25 mg to get around the 10% rule. People have reported that they were on 5 mg and they’re now being sent 4.25 mg as a dose. It seems people are not very happy about this. I don’t know if the drugs are cheaper but I suspect they’re probably not. For everyone else, if you’re still getting your drugs from compounders, ask them what dose they’re actually sending you. Apparently some have been sold the line that they are adding extra ingredients which is why they are reducing the amount of medication in the dose. There was also a woman who said that the price has gone up from $299-$500 and she could not afford the $500.
@ManOnTheMounjaro3 ай бұрын
Per compounding regulations, offering doses that aren’t commercially available would be a way that compounds can be prescribed legally when there is no shortage, similar to adding B12 or something like that. Whether Docs will mass prescribe them, 🤷♂️.
@gablovesplantssydney3 ай бұрын
@@ManOnTheMounjaro yes I know. The interesting thing is people are reporting that they are putting in their scripts for the normal doses but are being told they are getting smaller doses. This would not be allowed in Australia. I don’t know about American prescribing rules but here whatever the doctor puts on the prescription is what the pharmacy needs to prescribe to the letter. So now that we switched to pens I had to get new scripts for my MJ because they were scripts for the vials. Pharmacist cannot just swap around and do what they want. I’m only getting this news secondhand so I don’t know if the doctors are prescribing lower doses. That would obviously be legal but, if the pharmacies are just giving a smaller amount of drugs that’s a huge red flag to me. Also, I saw a very interesting discussion about a weight loss Clinic where they said that some of these compounders were having less active ingredient in their drugs and not telling their patients. so only 85% pure drug and the rest was fillers. I’m not suggesting this is the big players, but this Doctor said that some of his patients (and he provides both compound and name brands) found great differences in the potency of the medication.

I think pharmacies and telehealth both are trying to do everything in their power to make sure patients continue to get care, and trying to do so in a way that ensures they don’t get sued into oblivion… However, patients should always be informed and should have ability to discuss their options with a provider, IMO

Why are we only talking about compounds? Why isn’t this community speaking about the insurances and what they are now requiring in the upcoming year! We need to be talking about how the insurance companies are screwing everyone. Compounding will only last a certain amount of time. I’m in another community too where some people are able to and some aren’t. It’s a regional thing. When I was trying to get Monjouro just a couple months ago my pharmacy flat out told me it was likely it would be a month to month basis on whether I would or wouldn’t have access to it. One of the reasons I went the compounding route (& costs my insurance doesn’t cover it). It’s great you have been able to get yours though you’re lucky! 😊

@@ManOnTheMounjaro there’s a doctor with a channel called a pound of cure and in one of his latest videos he says there are likely 2 million people on compounded med in America.
