This is very unfortunate. It feels like the Laundries will not face consequences for their heartless actions and will be able to walk away scot-free as if they didn’t contribute to this families suffering. The fact that it will all be confidential is also very upsetting!!! Not because I’m nosy, but because the truth being revealed for all to see would feel like a small form of justice for Gabby. Her story needs to be known.

Prayers for the Schmidt and Petito families. At the end of the day, we can only hope and pray that Gabby received some type of justice. Sorry, but I don't have any compassion for the L's or their lawyer. Gabby lived in the L's house for a time, Sad that they showed no respect for Gabby when it was most needed . . . to communicate with Gabby's parents about what happened and where Gabby was. Between the L's and their lawyer, IMO, none of them have a heart as shown in the statements that were released during that time. I think we need to respect Gabby's parents and entire family. It's hard as we all want to know the truth. We want Gabby to get justice as she so deserved that. It is sad that the L's and their lawyer don't have to be held accountable for anything. So, to a degree, once again, the L's win. Is this how everything goes for the L's? Unbelievable.

Both sets of parents proved their love for their child. Both parents are going thru a nightmare that will never end. While.the moral thing would have been to encourage their child to come clean and help find Gabby, the Laundrys did the parental thing of protecting their child. I believe there was enuf info shared by the Laundrys to the Petitos to know what they wanted to know and see what they all lost. Furthermore, while the world supports the Petitos, they will always be angry with the Laundrys, forgetting or not realizing their loss.Their son couldn't control his anger or despair and killed both Gabby and himself. Their only sin was loving their son and making a stupid, desperate comment instead of remaining silent. Until we are in the shoes of the Laundrys, we can not be sure of what we'd do for our child. The best thing now is for the families to start the grieving process. I personally hate the phrase of "closure". I believe that concept is misleading, and people should stop using it. What everyone wants is answers and justice. There will never be any justice because Brian killed himself. Or maybe that is justice - a life for a life. This entire nightmare will always be a bad dream for both families for the rest of their lives. I don't think a trial is what is needed any longer.
