They belong in Prison as ACCESSORIES for what they put Gabby's Parents through. I wish that Gabby would have left that SOB...long before he killed her. Gabby seemed way too innocent and immature...to be going on a Road Trip...with a troubled young man. She had a supportive family...unlike some other young women suffering from DV Violence and Control...who sometimes do not. However...this was the path Gabby chose for herself...like many women do. Not to be killed...but to remain in an unstable relationship. Her Death was an unnecessary Tragedy that didn't have to happen...like many. I am extremely sorry for Gabby and her Parents. What was also horrific...is that we were watching her video clips and when the one with the Cop showed up and asked her if she was okay...Gabby was cryin' and chose to stay with Brian...when it was obvious she had been hurt. That was the moment it turned dark...and I stopped watchin'. RIP...Gabby.

As it is, they have shown what scumbags they are. The police in Utah should at least try to get a grand jury to indict for accessory after the fact. It may be a fools errand but that scumbag family deserves all of grief law enforcement can bring. Even though their attorney told them to say nothing, he could have conveyed pertinent details without compromising attorney client privileges'. Attorneys of his ilk, have demonstrated the total lack of ethics and responsibility that draw well deserved scorn and disgust for their profession. My cousin, who argued before the SCOTUS several times, said you always knew an honest attorney because they were broke. He wasn't broke but rather wealthy. It was generational wealth and he lost most of it due to alcoholism. I have 2 daughters. Both of whom are in abusive relationships. I feel nothing but disgust, hatred, anger, frustration and alienation to their "families". Scum. Drug dealers/welfare cheats/won't pay their bills. My children never knew of that lifestyle, was never exposed to any of that. Try to think about how easy it would be to grab someone’s face if someone is punching you. Not so easy, you’d have to restrain them first. That’s… not the natural reaction to being hit . Face grabbing in DV is closely related to throat grabbing and a common pre cursor in strangulation. I don’t know about what happened in public, but his wounds were defensive. When someone is grabbing your face or throat, you are often trying to hit or claw or scratch to get someone to let go. One of many reasons they look under finger nails in homicides, too… But scratches on the face and neck are typically defensive… Unfortunately, the police didn’t have that specific training. Most don’t in DV and it’s tricky because many people stuck in the dv cycle will stand up for the abuser, not to get them in trouble, or take blame Gabby was minimizing it and saying she did wrong things, he was acting extra nice/didn’t want to get in trouble. Unfortunately the policeman didn’t have the training or other call that had come in. The fact that Gabby was ultimately strangled to death shows clearly who the aggressor was. You never need to strangle someone to death, defensively.
