They belong in Prison as ACCESSORIES for what they put Gabby's Parents through. I wish that Gabby would have left that SOB...long before he killed her. Gabby seemed way too innocent and immature...to be going on a Road Trip...with a troubled young man. She had a supportive family...unlike some other young women suffering from DV Violence and Control...who sometimes do not. However...this was the path Gabby chose for herself...like many women do. Not to be killed...but to remain in an unstable relationship. Her Death was an unnecessary Tragedy that didn't have to happen...like many. I am extremely sorry for Gabby and her Parents. What was also horrific...is that we were watching her video clips and when the one with the Cop showed up and asked her if she was okay...Gabby was cryin' and chose to stay with Brian...when it was obvious she had been hurt. That was the moment it turned dark...and I stopped watchin'. RIP...Gabby.

My deepest sympathy to GABBYS family, I have also lost my daughter to a violent crime by someone she believed to be a trusted friend. It's a heart breaking pain that a mother never truly recovers from. Knowing legal conquences given to the person that murdered your loved one brings some peace of mind. Yes, life goes on, but, the heinous loss of a loved one is never forgotten or forgiven. Peace be with Gabby & my daughter 💔🙏.

@@rafeone9808 Accessory after the fact. Consider this, if they had acted as proper parents and as they them selves have said, "we cared about Gabby and she cared about us", their killer son would be alive and facing no more than 10 or so years in prison. As it is, they have shown what scumbags they are. The police in Utah should at least try to get a grand jury to indict for accessory after the fact. It may be a fools errand but that scumbag family deserves all of grief law enforcement can bring. Even though their attorney told them to say nothing, he could have conveyed pertinent details without compromising attorney client privileges'. Attorneys of his ilk, have demonstrated the total lack of ethics and responsibility that draw well deserved scorn and disgust for their profession. My cousin, who argued before the SCOTUS several times, said you always knew an honest attorney because they were broke. He wasn't broke but rather wealthy. It was generational wealth and he lost most of it due to alcoholism. I have 2 daughters. Both of whom are in abusive relationships. I feel nothing but disgust, hatred, anger, frustration and alienation to their "families". Scum. Drug dealers/welfare cheats/won't pay their bills. My children never knew of that lifestyle, was never exposed to any of that. If my children and if I had killed their spouse/my wife, I would not be the man I am and my parents would not have been the parents they were, if we had been accessories after the fact. Yes, get a good attorney and hope for a fair and just verdict.

It’s not about the money. Petito family had to sue the laundries in order to subpoena them to get the answers they wanted. They just wanted to know what happened to their daughter and it cost them money and emotional distress to find out. The laundries could have just told the police what happened right away.

I would have liked Petito's parents to make Laundrie's parents admit in public that they had deceived everybody, and then also take a lot of their cash and put it towards domestic violence victims. This would, hopefully, make other parents think twice about protecting their baby while making another family suffer. There needs to be serious consequences for this behavior.

Try to think about how easy it would be to grab someone’s face if someone is punching you. Not so easy, you’d have to restrain them first. That’s… not the natural reaction to being hit . Face grabbing in DV is closely related to throat grabbing and a common pre cursor in strangulation. I don’t know about what happened in public, but his wounds were defensive. When someone is grabbing your face or throat, you are often trying to hit or claw or scratch to get someone to let go. One of many reasons they look under finger nails in homicides, too… But scratches on the face and neck are typically defensive… Unfortunately, the police didn’t have that specific training. Most don’t in DV and it’s tricky because many people stuck in the dv cycle will stand up for the abuser, not to get them in trouble, or take blame Gabby was minimizing it and saying she did wrong things, he was acting extra nice/didn’t want to get in trouble. Unfortunately the policeman didn’t have the training or other call that had come in. The fact that Gabby was ultimately strangled to death shows clearly who the aggressor was. You never need to strangle someone to death, defensively.

That relationship was toxic. When the police stopped them in Moab, she was witnessed slapping him, scratching at him, causing him to bleed when he wanted to get away from her. They should have been separated immediately and sought some sort of therapy at that very moment. When either side is resorting to physical attacks, that’s when to seek help. When police see this kind of behavior from either side, time to intervene.

it looks like they were two unstable people who were more unstable together and both ended up dead. there is no real way of knowing what Brain told his parents when and how much they suspected (or should have suspected) but maybe were not told directly. the only reason we even know about this story is that she was missing for so long and nobody knew she was already dead. if they knew what happened to her on the day, it would have been some anonymous girl got killed by her bf and we would never known her name. it's a bad situation, on some level, but not really an uncommon one. if the Petitos found closure in a settlement, then good for them. You're a jerk too. Her family had no idea and thought she was safe with him. Who knows if he ever touched her until he had her alone for weeks on the road. No one to Blame but the man who killed her. Maybe his parents who babied and covered up for his sorry A@@.
