You could add a series of small docking ports on the sides of your rockets and the robotic arms to use that as a system to hold your robotic parts down on the vehicle. Even use a series of small docking ports on your interplanetary transfer vehicle in conjunction with the robotic parts, you can add a sort of stock docking latching system for these larger vehicles. I can already thing of tons of things I'd love to do that I couldn't figure out how to accomplish 5 years ago without things like linear actuators and the like... as well as other fun concepts or useful vehicle morphs at varying altitudes. Plus, the fact that it's been this long and the KSP team is still at it, and the literal hundreds of hours I've dumped into the game? $15 seems more than fair to try to support them further imo.

@@joyhoward6105 I prefer Career mode with a few handy quality of life mods. So I tend to build my stations piecemeal, and I have a hard time throwing anything away. So they tend to look a bit like floating junk piles. It was going to be more of a mobile science base, fully self sufficient with three science labs and half a dozen Nervs for propulsion. I took care to insure that the center of mass remained in the center and I would have built it over the course of about 8 or so launches to complete it. I had it all planned out. Oh well back to the drawing board as they say. Next time I build something really impressive. I have roughly 3500 hours in KSP so I know how to Kerbal some impressive stuff.

Being that I'm from the North, I'm going to use this to expand my Resource Extraction Outfit. I already built a Stock Cab-Over Rig and Mobile Refinery/Pump Station Semi Trailer. Also, a Sock Chinook Helicopter that could Carry either the Rig or the Trailer. With Making History, I was able to make an efficient Rocket for Astral Mining.. Now, I'm going to be able to make a better Mining Operation. (Not even mad about the Save thing because I tend to Restart a Career if I get bored/unlock useless parts anyway.) This will be great, I might even make a Subnautica Prawn Suit now!

Going purely from what I've seen, not having access to the early build, it looks like the constraint system uses the same kind of solver as the old joints did. And that means large, complex structures will be rather susceptible to krakens. Which is unfortunate, as there are much better solvers that don't have that problem.
