I think I've read more than once over the last few years that the break in has more to do with the ring & pinion ( if you don't want it to whine). And if warranty gets involved related to that, I imagine that GM could pull info out of the car as to how the break in period was handled. Not sure they could enforce anything though.

They can but they will probably fix it under warranty anyway. They're not Nissan. If you manage to break one stock, they won't even reprogram it to make it launch slower after they fix it. Now if you're modifying the already-pretty-built engine to get even more performance, you're gonna very likely end up on your own. Most likely though even substantial upgrades will probably just shorten the longevity of the motor, rather than causing catastrophic failure.

Mclaren has never really made amazing sounding cars though, the 570s is one hell of a weapon but it certainly doesn’t sound nearly as good as it’s competitors like the huracan or 458/488

Make the drive to rpm, get that fire tune and bump it to 800. Pretty aure the drive there will get you to 500miles. Plus a run down on the z06 on whats going on with it.

Ashton Boatman I doubt it....he will keep the Z06 for 1/4 mile...the McChicken for his "Exotic" cred....and the ZR1...so he can make content and keep being the 1st to hit milestones with it...plus...since he got the 7 speed...I am sure he will start getting into road racing with it...which is what it is designes to do...that way he has EVERY form of motosports covered....lol...the thing about the ZR1 on a road course...he doesnt really need 1000 plus HP...thats just overkill....BUT...knowing SS717..he will do it anyway...again...to be the 1st to have a 1000hp ZR1....

There is no generic 'car', and therefore mo generic breakin. If the engineers and manufacturers specify a break in procedure they probably know what they are doing. Some motorcycles come with an engine that specifically does not have a breakin period, I got one of those and bother with a break in as recommended. A different motorcycle had a very specific breakin procedure complete with rev limits vs cumulative mileage, I followed the procedure. Sounds like the Corvette has put that rev limits vs cumulative mileage in the tach, that's so cool ! Ignore the breakin, it'll be the future user's problem (why I don't buy performance/sports cars used if I intend to keep them long term).

And in the early 80's a vette had 180ish horsepower, crazy how's things change! I remember being a young boy waiting in line with my parents at gas stations in the 70s during the gas crisis. They went by the first or last digit on your licence plate and could only get gas on certain days. Now we have 750 hp vette n 840 hp challengers and, can buy 110 octane race gas from a gas station is crazy shit!

Get Exhausted the higher end Vette engines, are hand built and ran on the dyno...HARD...and after they are assembled...the entire car is ran BALLS out on a Quality Control track to ensure it performs...they come out of the factory broken in and ready to romp....GM says that....just incase something happens really early...they have an excuse....Ive been around a major Vette dealer since 94, with the ZR1 from back then...and have personally been in the auto industry since 2000....when you pick these up...drive em like you stole em!! They will LOVE it!!

Sounds like my '17 ZL1, that has bolt on headers, overdrive pulley and a custom tune for 740hp at the fly, 620hp & 665ft-lb tq at the wheels. Do the dyno run when you can I'd be curious to see what it does. But that thing is incredable...
