Here is the answer to the carbon wheel question. This comes DIRECT from manufacturer of the wheels. The GT500 wheels we manufacture are a 1 piece carbon fiber wheel. Both the face/spokes and the barrel are made of carbon fiber. The only aluminum that is used is for the seat where the lug nuts sit and the backing plate that is between the car's spindle and the wheel. The grey you are seeing is a plasma sprayed, Thermal Barrier Coating. It is a thin coating on the inner barrel that protects the carbon from brake heat.

There are other twin turbo C8's out there. And they are blowing their engines with bent rods at a bit above the typical LS/LT 640-675 rwhp number. That's 215-250 rwhp than stock and way more than the C8 needs. Its on par with a 720s and stock 720 did 0-60: 2.6 to 2.8 sec depending on the magazine. A mild twin turbo C8 with stickier tires should be in the 2.5 sec zone. And push 10.6 at around 135 in 1/4.

The traction management system is working purely off wheel speed and input from the clutches in the DCT. It deciphers those signals sends them to the ecu, traction control unit and then alters tps. I don't think power really has any effect on it truthfully.

Wow. That took some time figuring out how they should route/mount those and from the short looks on this video the Twins are tucked in beautifully and even somewhat maintenance “friendly”. What I mean by that is you can get to the turbos and clean the filters without a lift or a jack, jack stands, and a creeper. Ya “maintenance friendly” lol. Such a cool car and I give you big props for throwing the twins on it right off the assembly line. I just saw Cleetus put drag radials on his and do 0-60mph in like 2.8 or less... I can’t recall exact times but for sure sub 3 sec 0-60mph times. That was insane but his doesn’t have those two turbos stuffing large amounts of oxygen into each cylinder does it. I can’t wait to see the video (could already exist I haven’t looked yet) of this one either just doing 0-60 times launching it on the hwy or even better seeing what it can run on a sticky drag strip (bonus points if you also buy an extra set or just 2 rear rims and put a set of Mickey Thompson e.t. Drag radials on them but from what I’ve seen they hook so great they make one think they might hook and launch in a damn mud hole lol so the sticky M/T radials might be unnecessary). Peace and again big props for not messing around and just sticking a twin turbo kit right on it (it took big coconuts as they say lol 😂)

Those carbonfiber wheels are carbonfiber throughout the barrel, they were just lined with that LI-900 silica which is the same heat material used on the space shuttle tiles, it’s made from essentially very pure quartz sand and a couple of other materials that keep the surface of the other materials from melting the GT350R’s wheels are entirely covered in it only black. Ford herd the consumer on the fact that they wanted an exposed Carbonfiber wheel so they made it happen for the 500.

The C6 ZR1 should be in the garage. It's the only one of the 3 that isn't wrapped, so it's factory painted finish is exposed to UV light, the extreme heat, and rain etc, etc... It's also the elder and matriarch of the bunch which has earned it the respect of at the very least a spot in the garage.

For the gt500 and Gt350R they cover the rim in a coating in the inner barrel to protect the rims from the heat of the brakes. They are full carbon rims. Have the same thing on my Gt350R.

You really do need to get it tuned (of course). About the hot weather. You'll be making less boost in the heat. You will have a better chance of seeing an issue in cold air, (not hot) because the car will be making a lot more boost in the cold air. That's the issue I had on one of my turbo'd car. It worked fine all year, but on cold morings (below 50 degrees - which is cold down here in S. Fl. I would hit my fuel cut due to over boost. My turbos made significantly more power (increased boost) in that cold air. It was frustrating, but I rarely got that cold. It was a tuning issue, because my car was tuned on a 95 degree day (105 heat Index) during the Summer and the tune ended up being a little too aggressive for when the temperatures were cold. Just wanted to mention that. You'll make a lot more boost in cold air. So you cut hit boost cut/fuel cut without a proper tune in cooler air.
