Halfway House for abused NFL QBs... O'Connell University... QB Finishing School... KOC, the QB Whisperer... Whatever you wanna call it, it's working. KOC's tutelage has improved every QB he has worked with, from Cousins to Darnold. No reason he can't do the same for Daniel Jones. Smart move, young man. Soak up some book learnin' on the practice squad, then maybe bump Rypien off the 53 to become 3rd string, in 2025 compete with JJ McCarthy for the starting job, then either start or backup the starter on a good team for a season. In 2026, you emerge a finished NFL QB, ready to spread your wings and win some games...in another division, please. What a great way for KOC to stack some draft picks, while raising the average level of QB play for the whole league. Good show!

I see adding Jones as a forward-thinking move. Assuming Darnold doesn't have a meltdown in the rest of the season (and playoffs), he'll essentially be priced out of next year. Assuming Jones can show the Vikings something good, he can serve as the bridge QB next season like Darnold was supposed to be this year. That's a couple of assumptions, sure, but I don't think they're outlandish. Good luck to Daniel, he's found a great home.

This looks good for other positions and free agency, particularly recievers. It shows a good coaching philosophy towards development of players as part of a team. This will show up with players that might get paid more somewhere else, but wants to be a part of a great environment. And hopefully this culminates into a dozen Jerombardis in the next 10 years.

On our defense I feel it! Our Offense on a consistent high level performance, no! With the talent we have we fail to dominate! We just get by. No up temp game for four quarters of play- who we beat early on in the season either shows me something in the remaining 6 games (Cardinals, Falcons, Bears, Seahawks, Packers & Lions) or it supports our continued struggling to win. Stats and wins look great on paper but on the field that is another matter.

Signing Daniel Jones was a great idea. Rypien is horrible, just not a good player. And Mullens is not much better. Neither Rypien nor Mullens have any upside, they are who they are (QBs who throw 4 INTs per 3 TDs). Jones at least has more TDs than INTs this year (8/7 but still). With the right weapons, he could be a serviceable backup. Mullens is QB3 at best. Rypien should be a coach, not a player.
