It’s been a while since I thought of this game… I really hope a sequel or at least a spiritual successor becomes a reality at some point. It would be so cool to see how they add new abilities. There’s so many platformer mechanics you could add to a game like Neon White to add even more ideas for routes. Mechanics that mess with gravity, a grappling hook that lets you swing around a point instead of being pulled towards, maybe even portals that let you and your attacks travel through them… part of the perfection of this game is how simple the base is, and that leaves the game open to so many possibilities.

yeah they should kinda lean more into the fist mechanic, the game doesnt even introduce it properly. and they should add a slide mechanic

As someone who played Neon White because of you always talking about it, and who got Ace medals on every stage, but never looked up any videos on proper speedrunning tech, it's absolutely insane seeing some of the "normal" strategies you use in this that I never thought of when I played it, lol. I still need to go back at some point and do the rush modes and a couple of other things to get the Platinum trophy, so maybe I'll look into actual strategies when I do and see how fast I can actually get.

Shit gets insane if you start going for the hidden author time medals or studying the WR routes. Game’s got a lot of depth to it.
