I did some experimenting in a CPU game, and discovered there's three hidden blocks on the board at once, and moves to a new space each time its found. Though the contents are random, and it took me like 20 savescum turn resets to get a star from a hidden block. For the first time in the series they can also be found on Red Spaces.

Well, technically, the game itself was giving Jaiden “bad” things consistently, and Jacob “good”, it just didn’t know the “win condition” was backwards lol So you could see it as a reversal of luck or that everything went exactly as expected

That way, most paired minigames will be more chaotic, as there is a two-thirds chance of being paired with a player that has opposing goals, so working together will not be mutually beneficial. we have a house rule where no matter what, if my little brother can end a game of mario party, bonus stars included, on 0 coins, and 0 stars, he wins. He only finally succeeded this last Christmas. And it took everyone to make it happen. Allowing him to throw minigames/duels, stealing from him whenever possible, etc. All while still trying to win ourselves. He was so proud.

My friends and I did one of these before in Western Land. For the rules, we have to buy a star if we land on it, any use of Boo or negative items has to be random, we have to at least try to win at the minigames (this rule was admittedly the least followed), and eventually we stopped using the train because we weren’t getting anywhere. And even though I somehow got the first star (despite using DK to get away from it), I ended up “winning”, even having no stars OR coins on the final turn!

My very first game of mario party jamboree vs medium cpus was wild. I won every minigame but one, landed on the most red spaces, tied for most items used, and had the most coins, but of course those bonus stars didn't spawn. Except for one time, the stars always spawned directly behind me, too far ahead, or on the wrong path. I got bowser jr, but the entire 3 turns i didn't hit a single positive space (two reds in a row) and no one landed on my coin drains. At the "winner prediction" item handout, the game gives 3rd place the item. At one point I had used double dice and unluckily had ended up rolling only 8, ending up 2 spaces short of a star, only for an ai to nab it out from under me. My luck was terrible. I couldn't even roll high enough to get to Boo more than once, which just so happened to be right after id had my coins yoinked and didn't have 50 for a star. On top of that, the ais had it out for me. Picture this: It is turn 9/10. All 3 ais have 2 stars, I only have 1 and that's from using a gold pipe on turn 8. I am 20+ spaces away from the star with no way of getting there. Shy guy, who is coming second with 2 stars and 60 coins, is 5 spaces away from the star. Mario (also at 2 stars) uses a cursed die but hits me instead of shy guy. DK, who has 70 coins and 2 stars, uses a Boo Bell. He spends 50 coins and hits me with it. I now have zero stars. Shy guy gets its third star and wins pre bonus stars. I then watch as every single one of the bonus stars favour dk and shy guy so they end up with 5 stars each. I legitimately think it was an unwinnable game.
