Ford doesn't like to be topped when it comes to the F150, so I can see them putting the 5.2 Predator engine in the Raptor, but it might be a very expensive limited run version of the Raptor, as the Romeo engine plant is set to close down in December 2022, so their might be close to two years of availability, the Ecoboost is not going anywhere probably as the regular engine, and maybe the Powerboost or HO hybrid versions.

I can’t wait to see the engine and transmission combination. I do think it will be the 5.2 supercharged but I don’t think Ford will put a DCT in an off-road truck. DCTs are awesome and shift crazy fast but they are not the best at rock crawling or slower trail riding. I understand the raptor is meant to Baja but most people don’t use it for that. In my experience, a 10 speed with a torque converter would work a lot better off-road and be more durable.

I hope this leads to Ford sticking some super V8s in other vehicles to stand up to the competition, i.e. the Explorer ST vs Durango Hellcat / Jeep Trackhawk. Love my ST, but I gladly would have paid more for blown 5.2L V-8 version. OR, Ford really needs to come out with a smallish EcoBoost V8 for certain applications. Something like 500+hp 4.0Ltt V8. Stick it in the Explorer ST, the regular Raptor, GT supercar, etc.. That way you get the performance and the sound.

I LOVE my Raptor. I have the 2017 turbo and I don’t care what naysayers say. This truck is the best truck EVER! In ALL aspects. Design, performance and the POWER. Holy smokes…the absolute power. It was quite scary and intimidating at first! But when you get to know your baby it becomes an amazing machine. I’m %100 happy and satisfied with my purchase and will NEVER drive any other truck ever again and I’ll never get rid of my baby. Even if I buy a newer model, then that means I’ll have TWO amazing trucks 🤷🏻‍♂️ right? Lol thanks for the vid. It just made me more prouder to be a fellow Raptor owner

TFL purchased a Raptor and a TRX for long term test vehicles. Both trucks has $77k price tags on them. The Raptor had a few more options for the $77k, but still that was for a V6 Ecoboost. A V8 Raptor is going to base price @ $75k and go all the way to $100k. The most expensive TRX I've seen to date was just over $94k, so I don't know where the $120k price tag came from. One thing that looks nice but is as functional as a screen door on a submarine is the panoramic moon roof. IMO there's too much body movement to have 2 large pieces of glass over head. YRMV.

As I said why didn't they put the 3.5 from the Ford GT and the regular raptor temporarily until the V8 r model come out it's basically different heads a tune and an intake would have been a little better matchup and either way you go to the dealer and there is that little extra sticker on there market value adjustment $20,000 so if you're going to do that put the other v6 in it

I don't know where this information comes from but I wasn't able to confirm it anywhere online or at Ford. This tune up of 3.5. L Eco boost is particularly strange since the 3rd gen face life Raptor came out for the year 2021 and it had the same engine sporting 450 HP. I doubt that Ford would tune up this same engine just a year later and give it 50 HP more.. As far as Raptor R is concerned, that is a possibility given the fact that the RAM TRX is selling like crazy, and therefore taking customers away from the Raptor. We'll see..

FORD doesn't have factory direct dealer sales of an F150 Raptors in Australia. FORD US has partnered with an Australian Performance manufacturer which converts F150's to RHD, new dash arrangement, suspension upgrades and larger brakes. Currently not aware of costing but have been told it's around the AU$140,000 plus. RAM and GMC UTILIYIES are available in Australia (GMC converted to right H.D in AU. Ram sales are better than GMC due to Ram made in RHD in America. The starting cost of the Ram utilities begin at about $135,000 AU and increases with upper trim levels. The GMC utility start a little higher due to conversion costs. The only people buying these vehiles are wealthy farmers, business owners and truck owners. The midsize Ford Ranger Raptor sells for AU$70,000 PLUS. The main issues with the Ford Vehicles sold in Australia have reliability issues. Some issues are tyre shoulder wear (no adjustments for this issue, springs/shocks don't last 2 yrs, Ranger rides on bump stops and sensors falling out regularly)

Yeah that's your best option, that's what I did just get a XLT or FX4 V8 put a 3 inch leveling kit in it for under $100 and then you can fit tire size 33 on that's all you need top it off with a winch and roof rack light and you'll be up to a raptor no need to go bigger you end up limiting yourself for hills and tree clearance I live up in the North woods and I run the logging trails this works excellent

Yes, "DCT" is a copy of Porsche's "DPK" that was introduced back in 2009. I had the pleasure of test driving a 911 Carrera with "DPK." He is correct, there won't be any "lag" time between gear shifting and it is actually faster than the traditional manual transmission.

I think Ford has made a smart move with the V8 option...even if the V6 is faster you can’t ignore what customers want... I love the front end look going back to how they were a few years ago...if it’s great and people like it stick with it!.. So many manufacturers these days will change the look for the sake of change even if it looks worse...which is total insanity from a business sense.. For example...personally I hate the look of the electric F-150... and don’t really like the new Chevys... the previous models looked great but they changed them and put a lot of buyers off, including me... most people aren’t that loyal that they’ll stick with one brand no matter what nor should they. It’s a buyers market, we choose the best option available at the time... When Ram did their redesign a couple of years ago they got a lot of business because they made awesome trucks... This Raptor R is going to be extremely popular and it deserves to be...it’s an awesome design giving buyers what they want.

Ford F-150 Raptor has been my dream car ever since the first model came out in 2010. Unfortunately (or fortunately, it depends how you look at it), love of my life has taken me over the pond and now I live in a small EU country of Croatia. The unfortunate part relates to the fact that the Raptor isn't sold in Europe at all. Sure, you can import one from the States, no problem there, but then you find yourself in a situation where you're driving an extremely expensive car, (over 90 000 euros with all the taxes), that no Ford dealership can maintain or repair. There were few cases of Croatians importing Raptors and then having to wait for the parts with their car just sitting there at a dealership garage for months in a time, when the car breaks down. The second problem of owning a beast like Raptor in Europe is the price of the gas which is around 100% more expensive than in the US. Given all these hurdles and expenses, I've decided to downgrade and since I love and need a pick up truck, I will buy the Ford Ranger Raptor. It's smaller, therefore more convenient for the European roads and you can buy it directly from a dealership which employs people that are trained to service this car. Of course parts are also readily available and the 2.3. liter engine is much less thirsty than the F-150 Raptor's. Anyway, still a great car whose price is around 50 000 euros, fully loaded. Can't wait to gather some money and buy this beauty.. Who knows, maybe some future EV Raptor will be available in Europe and I will be able afford one..

Where I come from, both Raptor and the TRX are not even available. Heck, I've only recently heard about RAM. I am excited for a product I can't even just see in real life lol

7.3 is a very popular engine and very capable of alot of power , but it's alot of extra weight for a half ton pickup truck with soft off-road suspension , maybe a supercharged 5.0 l Coyote engine . But the most likely is the 5.2 from the GT350R that's where the raptor R comes from most likely

@@Lucky4zo no but it's for the heavy duty trucks only. The 7.3 would have to be returned for speed instead of towing , but it's an off road fast truck the 7.3 isn't that fast not if they trying to complete with the HELLCAT engine in the TRX..

Me wondering🤔🤔 if Ram didn't released their TRX would Ford haved still given us a V8 raptor I wonder what was their initial plans for the raptor before Ram forced their hand with the TRX

Absolutely not. I don’t think they ever thought about putting a V8 on the Raptor. They had to do it because of the TRX . It will be rushed built truck just to say we have a supercharger V8 . Raptor R will be a limited edition . They will still mass produce the Raptor with the Eccoboost.

@@ervinzefi8662 what you're saying is true .And Ram forced their hand which was a good thing because ford would haved just given us another V6 EcoBoost engine maybe with a tune on it .I just wondering how will it be priced compared to the TRX

@@brayton6683 Price it will be more than the TRX. This gen Raptor is already overpriced. Since it will be a limited number production, I’m sure Ford will milk it , like FCA is doing with the Durango Hellcat .

$53k base price???? lol. they routinely sell in the $80k range in the past. with a v8 i would expect upper $80's
