I lived in SF for more than 30 years. I can honestly say that over those years the city was in steady decline but accelerated when Willie Brown became mayor, and Kamala was the DA. I have many things to say describing Kamala and her character which are all negative. But I will refrain and let people do their own research. It’s the local government that destroyed San Fran - while having the highest taxes in the nation applied to some of the wealthiest individuals. Also, saying the war is why our country doesn’t have money is naive. The financial situation is so dire that every cent of discretionary spending, (military and non-military) is borrowed, alongside significant amounts of the non-discretionary spending. Simplistic solutions like “cut the military budget”, or “taxing the rich” are not nearly enough to solve the deficit.

My mom was born in the Marina District in 1925 and I was raised in the Bay Area, going to undergrad and grad school in SF. My memories of SF are a gem of a city -- beautiful, exciting, clean and full of promise. Then Newsom took over as Mayor which began the death spiral of one of the greatest cities in the world. Newsom becoming Governor and Harris' as AG was the nail in the coffin of SF (and California as well). My mom in Heaven is spared having to witness the betrayal and disgusting political "leadership" that's destroyed her favorite place on Earth. I was a native San Franciscan and I moved out in 1986 and would never move back. Politicians like Newsom, Harris, Pelosi, and London Breed have ruined San Francisco and California. The homelessness problem in the Civic Center area started to get worse in 1982 and mushroomed over the years. None of the past mayors did anything to address this. Breed is one of the worst mayors the city has ever had. California's infrastructure is crumbling and we have some of the highest taxes in the U.S. while the crime is out of hand. Last year Newsom had a 73 billion dollar surplus while this year is a 100 billion dollar deficit. We need a lot more transparency. I've lived in SF now for the past 15+ years and everything this rep stated is absolutely true. I try to avoid going anywhere near Market St, the Tenderloin and cringe seeing so many broken car windows. Many tourist are unfamiliar with the city crime and have their visits destroyed. There is a union for homeless people in the Fisherman's Wharf area! Who do you think is funding and are we surprised more and more homeless people are coming here? They have taken over several blocks in the downtown are. There are no police to address these tent towns! On rare occasions when they take action and have the homeless take down their tents, they just move one block and set up their tents again! Please do not vote for Kamala Harris!
