it often depends on external factors. if the students were already behind in elementary school than they are playing catch up. and if they face difficulties at home, for instance due to economic challenges since the pandemic, then most educators know that they should expect low grades -- bare in mind this is a standardised test.

Math was one of my worst subjects. So I doubled down on it and its became my top 2 subjects that i over excelled in. Math is not hard. Its repetition the more you do it the easier it will become, which got me to the point of being a student tutor for math.

I worked six day weeks during Covid and my twins are about to enter 4th grade with one reading at a sixth grade level and the other at a fifth grade level both are in the high percentile in math at a grade above me and their mom stayed engaged and help and repeatedly did the lessons of the day even after they were done virtually. His name is on the school because he supports it monetary. The school is own by the city of Cleveland School District.
