This is the thing that ticks me off most about the current 00 modelling scene. In Australia this will cost more than $520. It's the ultimate niche product for any modeller and its appeal must be similarly limited. But Bachmann, having had their initial costs subsidised by Kernow, have never bothered to add a third coach to their very successful 2H DEMU, or contemplated tooling up the two cars needed to create a 4-EPB from their equally successful 2-EPB model. Both these models will have a far wider appeal than than this exercise, which at root required no more than the same degree of tooling modification needed to produce such modelling options as suggested. I won't be buying this (especially at the quoted price), but the suggested development of existing models would definitely tempt me, even as prices climb through the roof.

I was on the Deeside Railway 2 days ago. I could just make out the battery dmu further up the line but out of sight of the public. A model of the Andrew Barclay 'Bon Accord' would also be good. Hopefully one day the line will reopen to Aberdeen and way may see this battery unit back in use....

Fingers crossed! Need to head back to Deeside Railway, not been there for years! Would you recommend a visit?

Will it have the correct underframe for a BEMU? It looks like it has the DMU underframe instead...
