Yep. I have one Rampage RT here in Brazil. That truck is amazing. It has cruise control, ACC and others technology stuffs. The only one negative point here in Brazil is the price of vehicles in general. They are too expensive when we compare with the truck's prices in US considering the minimum salary.

You only need to "save" if your a boomer who thinks working hard for 65 years is the only option. Some of us are just making our money work for us so "saving" for the last 20 years of my life isn't important. I refuse to live the first 65 years of my life as a slave to money. I bought a 1982 Dodge Rampage in December of 1982. It was a 4 cylinder (2 liter I think), two door with a small area behind the seats with a tray for storage, and a short bed. It was front wheel drive. I loved that truck. I drove it for years. My kids learned to drive a manual transmission with that truck. It would be cool to see the Rampage come back. A baby TRX would be super cool.

For the first time in history, RAM is designing a pickup truck outside the US, and for us pickup truck enthusiasts here in Brazil, we are very excited about the Rampage. I made some videos on my KZbin channel about this news, and I invite you to watch it to find out more information directly from the source, and I invite you to make a video together, if you are interested to know more details about this project which should soon be a big hit in the US. My first new truck was a 1997 Dakota SLT 4x2 with the 5.2 (I think) V8 - I loved that truck - had to get rid of it when my first was born. IMO those were the first true mid-size trucks (V8 power and smaller than typical 1/2 ton pickups).

They could make the Rampage and Commander/Meridian in Toluca alongside the Compass. They are all SUSW chassis vehicles. The Commander/Meridian could replace the KL Cherokee while the Grand Cherokee is renamed Cherokee, Cherokee L, Grand Cherokee, and Grand Cherokee L. I actually saw a RAM 700 here in central Ohio - my 2022 Santa Cruz was absolutely huge compared to it - there was a RAM 1500 just in front of it and the 700 looked about like it could fit into the bed of the 1500. The 700 wasn't much larger than a Kei truck - there's probably little chance that it would meet the requirements to be sold here in the US. The RAM 700 I saw had plates from Mexico on it - was odd being so far North....

I have to disagree with you guys on the Ram midsize pickup. I seriously doubt a new "Dakota" would cannibalize sales for the Gladiator. The Gladiator occupies a very different segment even though it is a midsize truck. A new Dakota would be tailored more for onroad use, as was the original Dakota, or at least significantly more so than the Gladiator currently is. The big point would be that the new Dakota would pull in more sales from other manufacturers more so than it would cannibalize sales of in-house vehicles in the same market. They would no doubt share a number of components, thereby increasing profits due to greater volume of components ordered, which in turn would lower the cost of the Gladiator FURTHER boosting it's sales. The Dodge and Ram brands are known for shaking up the markets they occupy, so I really hope they bring greater variety of vehicles in more segments because that Rampage looks really cool.

The specs of 270hp, 10"ground clearance and 23mpg ⛽ will meet the needs of alot of truck buyers. Most trucks you see on the road daily aren't towing boats 🛥 or hauling cords of wood. Expect an announcement at midseptember Detroit auto show of the Rampage coming to US shores in early '24 🐏

So basically the truck I already have, paid for and do minor repairs and maintenance on. Doesn’t do 23mpg, doesn’t have all the fancy tech, sensors and MDS that will fail when the electronics give up the ghost in less than 10 years time. My insurance is $150 per 6 months cheaper than my dads new ‘24 Santa Cruz and he got discounts for all the safety tech. If my engine/trans blows there’s a couple grand to spend but it’s definitely WAY less than a new 45-65k truck

RAM bringing this truck to the USA would prove to be a massive success if priced correctly. I think there'd be huge demand for it, just look to the Maverick for proof. As you guys had mentioned, testing in the USA does not equal the manufacturer bringing it here. Just look at the new Mitsubishi Triton that was caught testing in Colorado and other areas of the USA. They've since revealed the new truck and no word if it'll ever come here. Logistically, there'd be many hurdles to overcome to get the Triton here. However, I think RAM may have an easier time doing just that.

I think that there have been some examples of vehicles that the Big 3 need to focus on. One is the compact trucks like the Maverick. Where is the S-10 or the Sonoma? Personally, I don't see the purpose of the Ranger, Colorado, or Canyon...especially since the prices are not much below full-size trucks. Ford can't make enough Maverick's. Also, the new Chevy Trax seems to be selling pretty well...especially with a fully-loaded one going for around $25,000. The economy can't support everyone buying $60,000 vehicles with approx 10% interest rates (including new and expensive EV's), they need to be offering more small vehicles.

I don't think that people realize yet that all this discussion about new vehicles is going to be pretty much moot for most Americans in a few months. With what lies ahead for the economy, fuel prices, and interest rates, ANY new vehicle will be out of financial reach for all but wealthy Americans within a year. We are about to see the same automotive market atmosphere as the Great Depression, where some very beautiful and expensive vehicles were made that nearly no one could possibly afford to buy. With the poisonous government that we now have in the U.S., that outcome is pretty much baked in the cake now.

A 2 door configuration with a useable sized bed would be useful. The crew cab with tiny bed configuration is really just a sedan without a lid covering the trunk. They'd be better off just putting a lid on the "truck" bed and calling it what ever they want to, but we all know it would actually be a sedan.
@Scotty_in_Ohio
@Scotty_in_Ohio Жыл бұрын
While I get what you're saying and mostly agree (2 door config) some of the appeal (and why I bought my Santa Cruz two years ago) was the fact that while the bed space is less than I had in my F-150 I almost never needed that amount of space but I do often use the open top part of the bed for larger / bulkier items that wouldn't (at least easily) fit in the back of a SUV of a similar overall size and some things like bags of mulch, gravel, and plants I don't really want sitting in the interior of my new vehicle - what makes the difference for me was the fact that while I could get my F-150 through the garage door it wasn't easy and left me very little room at the front of the garage - the SC is much smaller. A Ranger would work too but had almost as many down sides as the F-150.
@Scotty_in_Ohio
@Scotty_in_Ohio Жыл бұрын
Oh, and I really do consider my Santa Cruz a Crossover with a bed or a "Car SUV Truck Thing" - it doesn't have off-road chops but I only took my F-150 off-road enough to know that it wasn't very capable either....

I am in the market for another truck. I sold my 2017 RAM 1500 Big Horn in 2021 because CarMax gave me 8k more than what dealers would, and I had purchased my Scat Pack Shaker at 0% apr. I of course in the last several months have needed to do the typical "american" truck things. Buy wood, paint, sand, etc, and my wife's 19 Jeep Cherokee struggles. I don't need a big 1500 again since I only do these things every 2-3 months and driveway space is limited. What I do need is something good on gas, can take stuff home from the big box stores, and can fit 2 kid seats. I looked at the Maverick and Santa Cruz, but if it wasn't apparent, I prefer the styling of Stellantis, children seats were a struggle, and the dealer markups were insane. The Gladiator is just way too expensive, and I don't plan on going off road. I really hope they bring this to the states or more of a Dakota replacement. The pricing is important. I really don't need a 50k truck. 35k is my absolute max for something so "limited" being sold as a "truck". So as long as this is reasonable, I am sold. TLDR; I am excited to see if this will come state side. It should and if it does, I am sold. As long as it is reasonable.

The 272HP makes sense why rumors that Ford is bumping the Mavrick up to 270HP. The Rampage maxing out at 50kish is nothing big because I see Mavricks hitting 51k when over optioned. The Mavrick getting 270HP thing I thought was just due to the Santa Cruz having 281HP.

1. If the Rampage comes to the USA, comes with the Hurricane I-6, then that would be awesome. If it offered a mild hybrid with ample E-PTO, that would be awesomer. 2. If they enclose the bed, name it the Ramcharger, and give them both it the full range of engines, that would be awesomest.

Another stupid release from a major manufacturer, a mid size truck should be getting at a minimum 30 mpg and still have decent power, as a hybrid it should be getting in the 40’s as far as mpg. Anything short of that is just a waste of effort. The RAM 1500 with the V6 was reliable and got about 27 mpg with sufficient power and plenty of room
