Pulitzer Opal

Pulitzer Opal

Күн бұрын

I take a beautiful, but highly flawed 297 carat chunk of Australian opal and cut it. I also used two other chunks of Australian opal (total weight = 1000 carats!) to make two opal arrowheads.
The 297 ct opal was difficult because it was covered with sand (matrix) and had a number of cracks. I ended up making 5 cabochons (total weight of 145 carats), including one that very closely resembles a fossil (opalized) clam.

You're whole house looks like a happy house especially the animals, maybe 10 hours was a tad long but we get to see so little of you recently (Bad Black Bear. Keeping you captive🤔 ) Stunning work once again, you can't half pull the best out of the worst looking lumps. Arrows, clams, all manner of shapes,A Truly Talented Colonel 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💎😃💎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@@PulitzerOpal To be fair, she was essentially feral when we adopted her. We adopted her with our tuxedo girl and she is the only other cat that she likes. Now that she is getting older she is starting to calm down a bit which is nice. She used to (as early as last year) go out of her way to start fights with my daughter's cat and our male tuxedo kitty but these days she seems to be trying her best to just avoid them now, lol. :)
