In this short episode I'm finishing off the walls with lime render and I'm removing the floorboards.
I'm leaving the joists in place as they provide for structural integrity.

Haha. I do like French rap but probably because I don’t understand the lyrics. I’m not sure what the other viewers think though…

The roof exposed looks beautiful. I really like your vlogs and your perseverance because working on your own seems tough to me, yes of course you have the roosters and the chicken but if you have to carry heavy beams they probably have other priorities! I am just wondering if you are going to insulate the roof? We live in an old French farmhouse in the Indre (Centre) where the temperatures in winter are moderate (we have had not lower than minus 4 degrees centigrade for only three or four days) but still the house get very cold. (The insulation if our walls could be better, the roof is insulated)

Very good points raised. I’ll discuss that in the next blog in detail. But in short: for now I’m not insulating the roof as it didn’t get cold in the house last winter, the space is so small even a small woodstove will heat it up very fast and we might not be in Europe during most of the winter in the future. I’ll explain in the next episode Adje.

If you are insulating the roof would it not have been easier with the floor in? Or will you just add OSB when needed? It is certainly a beautiful space with the floor out. Enjoyed the French rap.

I’m not insulating the roof. I will explain in the next episode why. This is a very good question!

The distractions and multi-tasking keeps you sane when renovating and restoring, however, once the bathroom is up and functioning you won’t know yourself! (Bloody stupid expression that - who else would you know?🤷🏻‍♂️) Anyway…..head down, bum up big fella and get the wet area done👍

Yeah, it’ll solve so many of my space problems once that bloody bathroom is done. And once it’s done it also means that the basics for plumbing and electra are done
