BREAKING: South Korea DECLARES Martial Law; Military DEPLOYED To Seoul Amidst COUP | Enforcer News

Today, South Korea's president has declared martial law and deployed heavy military forces to the capital city of Seoul. The South Korean parliament building has been stormed by the military as MPs attempt to regain access to the building to strike down the martial law declaration. Meanwhile Blackhawks and personnel carriers were seen driving through the streets as civilians attempted to stop the deployment of military in the city. This appears to be a coup attempt by the sitting president and it remains unclear if he has a legitimate justification for attempting to gain control of the country through martial law. North Korea can’t mobilize their troops fast enough to take advantage of this. And South Korea would destroy North Korean forces in a war at this point. In the 1990s South Korea needed our support to win a war with North Korea. Not anymore. Having the US involved would destroy North Korean forces in a few weeks instead of a few months. North Korean infiltration elements acting provocateurs are probably a threat of being a nuisance, but that is the extent of North Korea’s capacity to exploit this civil unrest. North Korea is primary a nuclear threat. Not a conventional military threat. A conventional war in the peninsula would be a humanitarian crisis and cost a hundred thousand lives…but South Korea would win easily.

As someone familiar with Korean politics, no they are not a healthy democracy and never really have been. They've maintained that illusion by the help of their multinational corporations commonly referred to as "Chaebols," but the opposition party has been trying to reform Korean politics to become more democratic and reign in the Chaebols. I guess things have finally reached a fevered pitch. A bit of history to understand what is going on. The Peoples Party is a right-wing party that functions like a Corporatocracy and South Korean living standards have been on rapid decline with now entire generations of South Koreans condemned to poverty because the corporations continue to function uninterrupted. This coup marks volatility in a long line of corruption and general issues.

190 parliament members voted unanimously against martial law. That does not mean the 110 voted for martial law, the 110 were not present in the meeting and did not vote. Note this meeting was an emergency meeting held at 1am in South Korea

In regards to South Korea, another news outlet reported that there was a coup attempt in the country. Assuming that's true, this may be the reason Yoon declared martial law. IMHO, I believe that there are north korean assets stirring the pot in the country. We will just have to wait and see what develops. At any rate, these events are quite disturbing. you have it backwards, Yoon is corrupt and his impeachment was imminent, this was an attempt to stop his impeachment and cling to power. South Korea has a long history of extreme corruption, as their country is dominated by a few Mega Corps that make and run everything, and they have a long history of bribing elected officials, who end up getting caught, impeached and jailed.
