Good demonstration on the distance limitation of 6 Ghz. It will work well in an apartment though. Wi-Fi 7, or whatever the next gen standard will be called, will have technology that will enhance speeds with cellular-like carrier aggregation of Wi-Fi bands. Exciting things are happening in this space.

I have a U6-Enterprise that I picked up right after the product left EA and it's been on the top floor ceiling of my house for some months now. I had the same issue you did in that Unify doesn't make a cost effective 2.5gbit POE switch right now (a weird hole in their product line for a PoE company). So I did what you did and got a poE injector compatible with 2.5gbit Ethernet (I bought the TP-Link) and then hooked it into a a spare port on my Unifi USG-Aggregate switch. That switch is fiber but I has a spare fiber to twisted pair transceiver and this combo has been working well. I'm seeing about the same performance that you are except that I don't have a 6 ghz capable device in the house yet (I did this for future proofing). My only real problem with it is that where it's mounted has good performance in most places in the house except one spot which is behind the kitchen oven and the laundry room stacked washer/dryer. Unfortunately that spot is my office desk. I don't rely on wifi for my desktop computers but my iPhone's wifi reception in this area could be better.

The pro is nice too. I installed one at work and it is consistently faster than the Xfinity business wifi6.

Great speeds! One thing though is some viewers may not realize that fastest WiFi on Earth will be strangled with a slow internet connection. Seems obvious but it isn’t for a lot of people.

I might get this access point for the home. I would plug it into my existing Wi-Fi 6 mesh router and get 6E for my Razer laptop.

Their 6E APs are pretty good, though they still have issues that are present in many other brands of APs as well, if you use a large number of them in a smaller space, e.g., like what Linus from LTT did on his video when he was essentially adding one of their higher end APs to each room of the house, the roaming functions do not behave properly, and it is largely due to many roaming assistive functions not working until the per antenna RSSI of the client device averages below a certain threshold. That overall makes it harder to achieve a setup where you can get 1.5-1.8Gbps real world throughput WiFi in every room of the house, while also having smooth AP directed roaming. That limitation overall forces someone to use fewer APs in a residential home if they want smoother AP directed roaming.

Hey Lon! Frontier is setting people up with a TP-Link Archer AXE300 6E router when they get their 5 gig plan. I noticed it has an SFP port and 10 gig ethernet and looked to be a really good device overall. If you get an opportunity to test it, I'd love to hear your opinion on it. I just received an email from Frontier saying they will be here to run fiber in my area soon. I'm very excited as currently we don't have any broadband options. If I upload a KZbin video, it's at a blazing 1.5mbps over my DSL connection 🥹

@Zachary Webb I'm in North Georgia. Frontier hasn't gotten the fiber to us yet, but it is coming. I received a text and email saying it's on the way recently. It's awesome that they are including such a majestic looking router with their 5 gig service!

@@randellhendrix7721 here in NE Indiana, Frontier has been expanding in most areas except for mine... We are too near municipal fiber and have fixed wireless available so BEAD funding won't get us fiber. Frontier likely doesn't see my small town as a viable place to upgrade to fiber.

I loved the AP that had two network ports to act as a mini switch, why don’t they still do that?

With my ASUS RT-AX11000 Just regular WiFi 6 had no issue pushing around 1.7gbps over 5GHz and around 300mbps over 2.4GHz and that was with a phone the S22 Ultra. The most I could get out of an iPhone 13/14 was around 700mbps. Only advantage I see WiFi 6E being for those who live in areas where the wifi spectrum is congested.

I'm slowly upgrading my Ubiquiti network. In my house, I'm currently running an older AC Pro and 2 AC LR's connected to a Cisco 48 port POE switch. My Cloud Key died a while back so I'm running the controller software in a Docker Container on my Synology NAS. My goal was to purchase 3 new U6 Enterprise AP's, one at a time, get them on my network with Cat 7, and then purchase a Dream Machine Pro SE to wrap it all up. My Cisco doesn't have POE+ so I'm not sure how this lower powered spec will impact the performance of the U6 Enterprise AP's. I know I won't be able to take full advantage of the faster speeds without the Dream Machine and the POE+, but I'm wondering if it will be that terrible until I purchase the Dream Machine?

So this is better than the U6 Lite, but how much better is it than the U6 Pro?

I am noticing that for some reason the video chapters are not showing up for me. It looks like you did it correctly in the description like you normally do but I cannot get it to show up. On my phone, on another browser and even other people. Just wanted to let you know. Have a great day!

Thanks for this review! Question: I’ve got mine (also pro) adopted in my existing network. All works fine on 2.4/5ghz. But as soon as i add the 6ghz band to my wifi-network all legacy clients are gone and don’t connect anymore…only a iphone 14, homepod and apple watch can still come up Camera’s, printers, streaming devices, all gone and back online when i only disable the 6ghz band…🤔

Looks like a good product, but I have nothing on WiFi 6 yet, and don't want to run cable though my ceilings, plus I'm on T-Mobile at home 5G getting just over 500Mbps+ down and 150Mbps+ up on average, so I went with a 4 base(Had to find the 4th one on eBay from someone selling them separately from a 3 pack) TP-Link Deco X20 Mesh WiFi setup, that works well enough for me, and I can monitor it remotely via the Deco app on my Android phone/tablet which is a nice bonus when I'm not home, and someone sends me the rare text it's not working lol

Have you tried openwrt with generic multi-gig port tiny PCs? I feel it's much better performance and higher value than Unifi. Granted Unifi has it's SW suite, but tiny PCs now come with multiple 2.5G or 10G ports.

6Gbit to the house?! I thought you had 2Gbps. Does that mean you’re beyond saturating that connection? 4k HDR video streams are just a handful of Mbps.
