It's not just that this channel presents historical things that google is making so hard to find now. Nor is it the fact you have films about forgotten events and things most folk have never thought about, let alone looked for. No: it's the fact everything you do passes professional muster, by both film and historical standards. Only the best youtube history channels offer different interpretations of history: you do that as standard. I am genuinely gobsmacked by what you have done in this video. It ranks with your underground railroad videos as an outstanding contribution to on-line history. Thank you.

I've got to say, Karl, that this is definitely the best written/narrated(/acted)/filmed/audio/edited historical vignette you've done so far...and extremely interesting to boot! History flows deep in New Orleans. While in the French quarter maybe you could also check out the House of the rising sun? Like the one from the song. Also go to the county’s oldest restaurant, you can take a tour of Antoine’s. You will see where a patron of the 1700’s had a meal and was so drunk he paid for his meal with his sword, and it’s still there. The Japanese room is one of our favorites as well at Antoine’s.

Being forced to drink bad wine while dodging gators ? Allowing crayfish to shoot back before they are boiled ? Trying to shoot accurately while holding truly incandescent Louisiana hot sauce in your mouth ? Scoring accurately after the third application of Peychauds Bitters with that Sazerac mixed drink that goes down smooth but is true tanglefoot ? Being out in a mangrove swamp with mosquitos, snakes and other nasties while dodging hungover revelers from Mardi Gras armed with paintball guns ? Shooting standing up in a pirogue ? Just how creative can you get with no snow ? Finns in midsummer heat and humidity would be brutality enough I would think. Maybe if you insist they visit but promise not to drink while watching others enjoy themselves ? True brutality that ,no ?Or,getting them spectacularly hungover then taking them out into choppy water and see how accurately they can projectile vomit. Evil brutality that, no ? Be creative. A good suggestion yours is,but you must think of something(s) that leave indelible memories in the minds of the guests.

The son becoming the new mob boss - an old saying comes to mind: "Yesteryears liberator becomes tomorrows tyrant". For example Nicolae Ceaușescu: Some called him "The Kennedy of Romania" in the early years of his reign in the late sixties, he eased press censorship and openly condemned the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968 - but later his government took a turn to totalitarian and by the eighties was considered the most repressive in the Eastern Bloc. He was overthrown and executed in the Romanian Revolution in December 1989.
