But still we're under His Law, the Ten Commandments, even as Jesus said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the Law or the prophets, I am not come to destroy..." (Matt. 5:17). You need to understand scripture refers to two main laws 1) the Ten Commandments and 2) the Mosaic Law, which is that law He took out of the way, nailing it to His Cross. The Mosaic Law was His grace then, for breaking His Law, which is how He made atonement for their sins then. The grace we're under today is by His testimony, and the purpose of His testimony is to make it possible for us to keep His Law, which we do by the power and help of the Holy Spirit.

I applaud your summary explanation of the Tanakh as it relates to the Lord Jesus, and the importance of understanding the Jewish backdrop and OT references of many things that He spoke to the Jewish people then. However, the commission to "repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand" is universal to both Gentile and Jew alike. The Gospel messages is universal, as well. This is confirmed countless times in the Old and New Testaments. The insistence of having a deep "Hebrew Roots" understanding, which I've heard from this camp a lot over the years (8:00m mark) - is where I couldn't continue listening anymore. When we all stand before God at the judgment, the ultimate question will be "What did you do with Jesus?" or by consequence "Is your name written in the Lamb's Book of Life?" End of story. Taken in context, the repentance John the Baptist was calling for was not a detectable change in people's lives, it was a change in their hearts. The Holy Spirit was coming upon the world through Christ. These people were awakened by the Holy Spirit to the arrival of the Messiah. These people's hearts were ready to receive His message. These were the people who came and followed Christ around to listen to His words. These people were awakened by the Holy Spirit, they were participating in a repentance that called for a departure from living under the law of Moses to a law based on faith and the moving of the Holy Spirit in their hearts. Consider these words... 'your righteousness must exceed that of the Pharisees and scribes', 'I am the bread of life', 'I have water to give you that you may never thirst again', 'seek ye first the kingdom of God', 'upon this rock I will build my church', 'it is the holy spirit that has revealed this to you'. I heard it described as a husband confessing to his wife he has had an affair and promises its over, she decides to forgive him as long as he shows it by his behavior (entering into a covenant) by; never talking to the other women again, making his wife a priority and showing sincere mighty regret. Yet most Church circles act like this is repentance: Approaching his wife, with his mistress in his arms. He 'confesses' his sin and says he can't help it as its his sinful nature (Augustine) and he will continue to be having the affair but because he confessed his sin, he insists his wife forgives his ongoing sin. This is obviously absurd but that is how most of the evangelical community act with 'repentance' towards God!!

We all need to repent daily. Why? Because though we are born-again, there are many situations that hurt and offend us, therefore, we still have many flaws, and we can easily fall into sin. There are also sins of ignorance, idols of the heart, wrong beliefs and doctrines, unaddressed sins, spiritual carelessness, lukewarmness, spiritual apathy, slumber, neglecting God's Word, not being vigilant enough, not continue to seek godly truth. I don’t know what your intentions are. Too many people follow biblical teachings like a to do list. But Jesus always said that unless you DIE to SELF (take up your cross) you can not follow Him. What does that mean? You “can not” because the religious “obedient have no surrender to Christ, allowing His Love and trust needed to guide us. This also exposes the having “fruit” issue. A cherry tree can’t help but produce cherries because that’s what they do. A surrendered life can not keep from the effects Christ causes in them. “Lord, please train up my heart, mind and spirit to love what you love, hate what you hate and see people the way you do. When we actually do give up our selfish will to His will, He starts a remodeling in us or l should say He starts a new good work in us until we die or He comes for us. “If you LOVE ME you we’ll follow My commands.” It’s the LOVE He gives us that causes that obedience. All churches say what they preach. The problem is the interpretation they are using. I was a Catholics but I didn't like some interpretation they think is true. I'm not a Protestant because of the same issue I had with the Catholic church, each one has its own interpretation. So now I'm a follower of Jesus the Christ.

I brought his videos and CDs to South Africa 20 years ago - christians warched and agreed they were wrong about the paganism in their church, BUT said they got used to the celebrations and brought up their children this way, so they will not give it up... You see, Teshuva= returning to God's standard if truth = as written in the תנך = old testiment and forsaking added "fun" traditions. A lot of food coloring, taste enhancers, sweeteners etc- are poisoning the bodies...once we hear the truth - its up to us to say NO and Return to the "simple" foods. But, most people prefer to go to the pharmacy and take more medication for their bad health symptoms, instead of dealing with the source. We must be honest and ask God to GIVE US a repentant heart = T'shuva- transform our hearts and minds, as we are ADDICTED to sin by nature. What happens most times is wrong teachings that enable us to stay in sin, and we end up only saying we are sorry or silencing our conscious! Just like eating junk and taking a pill for it, or getting pregnant and aborting the un seen child... Its not becoming religious but having the awareness of integrity. I keep asking my children:" what have you "given up" for God's love, that made you feel you lost on life- Sweets on Halloween?! Un kosher foods?! Un Godly behaviour?! God has kept you more and gave up more than you will ever feel you gave up on, for him." When we do the math, we discover how selfish and un loving God we truly are - most of what we do is for us to feel good about ourselves...really. Most of us dont live in a country that will persecute us for truth sake! Church meetings have become mostly a social event that mentions God and promptly ends so we can "go back to our "real" lives..." Personally, i dont know how we expect Mashiah ( Messiah) to come back...if he comes, he will come down as Moses has- God told him to HURRY GO DOWN because the people have corrupted their ways..."! Look at our ways! As the Israelites, so have we gave up on expecting HIM to return...! Shabbat Shalom to all who remember the 7th day as His day of rest!

You said most have given up on His return and in a very real way you are right. If you look at the parable of the 10 virgins you see that all 10 are asleep and have to be woken up when the lord returns. Even the 5 wise virgins have fallen asleep. It has been so long and there have been so many times teachers claimed His coming in imminent and been proven wrong that people have become jaded. But fear not since there is a wake up call coming. We can only speculate what it will be but just as your alarm going off to wake you up in the morning there will be no doubt why. So what's the difference between the wise and foolish virgins? The wise heeded the Lord's warnings in His word and prepared to make it through the long night. They knew they would have to face the tribulation and great tribulation and they had gathered the means for their survival in advance. The foolish virgins ignored the warnings and went on enjoying their lives while the wise suffered and labored to prepare then expected the wise to provide for them when their lamps ran out. This is a great evil in the church Today and according to the parable half of Christians are guilty of it.

For any having doubts about giving up "religious" days, it must be said that the days God commanded his people to come together--the high holy days--are so much more meaningful than trees and eggs. When studying about each of the high holy days, you'll find out so much more about God and His intentions for those that follow His commands. It's a wonderful and amazing tapestry illustrating the vastness of His love for people which is likely just a sample that our limited human minds can comprehend. It's easy to give up zirconia "jewels" or imitation gold jewelry if you can have the real thing. The same thing applies here. Once you have a taste of the real thing, the other "religious" holidays don't matter all that much.

Great message. Thank you. I would eventually learn that the seven sevens (49 years) from 457 CE would bring us to 408 BCE, the time when history records the walls of Jerusalem were complete. The sixty-two sevens, 434 years later, brings us to 26 CE. Perhaps this was the date Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist and began his work for God. Luke recorded he was thirty years old at that time which, if I’m not mistaken, was the minimum age a man had to be before he could work in the temple. It seems to line up perfectly.

Paul never mentions he is a Jew: but from the original wild, old, Olive tree of ISAAC and Abraham....... and his credentials prove that these imposters are not of Christ: but of the synagogue of Satan...... taking the congregation back to the OLD WINE of the flesh! One of the things the Jews did was to have thoughts like that they would just present a greater sin offering, and sin willfully, since it was like a get out of jail free card, for their actions. If you also look at the fact, they also wanted to adopt parts of pagan worship and incorporate them into their worship of Adonai, you might realize that things are similar today in Christianity. People will think a few more hail Mary's will solve their issue or that it is ok, since Jesus forgives them, all the while, happily indulging in whatever sins they want and then enjoying the pagan additions to Christianity, (Christmas (Jesus' contrived D.O.B, also see Jeramiah 10), Easter (Ishtar the Babylonian goddess of fertility) on the part of the Roman government and Catholic church. The thing John the Baptist said in introducing Jesus was ‘I baptise with water, but one is coming who baptises with the Holy Spirit’. This baptism of the Holy Spirit is the Shechinah of Jewish literature and the baptism the high priests officiating at the Solomon Temple experienced (1 Kings 9:11 and 2 Chronicles 5:14). It is our birthright as Jews or believing Gentiles under the New Covenant, but had been lost it seems in the post exilic period. Once the domain of a select few, then available to many - now sadly, a mystery again to most.

Welcome to MJ Rood😂 I think his answer to that was the Torah or the Tanakh, which is the Torah, N"viim, and the Ketuvim He is saying repent, 8:52 which is "teshuva" in Hebrew, which means to return to God‘s original instructions. what I feel is missing here and (I love the orderly teaching that Rood does) is that yes you need to study the Torah, which means we need the instructions, but we need the instructions vetted through Yeshua. Second temple Judaism had gone astray from the Torah, so how do we eat the meat and spit out the bones? through the living torah: Yeshua. for example, Yeshua would say "you have heard it said, but I say,...some of those verses and thoughts are scriptures to dwell on. That is so interesting! I didn't know the time they spent in captivity was equal to the years they refused to let the land rest. I was always fascinated by the advanced techniques God gave Israel. Things like this and crop rotation as well as genetic purity and even disease quarantine procedures. They didn't and couldn't understand why He was telling them to do all these things but with the scientific advancements and knowledge we have today we can see the practical reasons for His commandments. Things like not marrying your sister or excluding people with an incurable disease like leprosy from the rest of society. While other things like "thou shalt not boil a calf in its mothers milk" are not so clear other than the simple fact that that's just messed up and cruel.

I think the people had a lot to repent of, seeing that 70-weeks (or 490-years which constituted 10-jubiles of time) was determined upon Daniel’s people in Daniel 9:24. The book of Jeremiah seems to outline the many things the people around Jerusalem were doing which ultimately caused them to be carried off to Babylon, and there was also the matter of Jeremiah 7 concerning their Queen of Heaven worship and chapter 44 which outlined how the people said they had abandoned Father Yah for the Queen of Heaven. Did they ever repent of that? No, not really, and Christ eventually told them that their house was left unto them desolate after reminding them that they were the children of those who murdered his prophets in Matthew 23. And instead of taking their Messiah’s words to heart, they murdered their Messiah as well and 40-years later the city and sanctuary was destroyed by the Roman armies in 70 AD to fulfill Daniel 9:26, and stepping back we find that after murdering their Messiah they murdered Stephen in Acts 7 for pointing out all their errors and reminding them that they always resist the Holy Spirit and for their having murdered their Messiah the just one. For these sins and more,Messiah warned them in John 8:44 that they were of their father the devil. So, they had lots to repent of.

The "Lost" tribes were never lost until the last 150 years or so when we just stopped wanting to learn about them. The ten tribes were not spread over the Assyrian Empire. They were moved to the region of the Medes and the Persians. When the Babylonians took over the 10 tribes went north to around the Caspian sea and became the Parthians. When the Babylonians took Jerusalem the was hardly anyone left there. They had migrated north to around the Black Sea and became the Scythians ( Sacithians, Sacae, Isaac). This is not true. 1. No one cares about a Greek Definition 2. Since no one dies for the sins of others (ezekiel 18 4 and 20) and since repentance is enough, no one needs a human sacrifice. @@Mackenzieeify. Come on. Read Acts 15. Read the Llamsa version of the Peshitta text which was Aramaic and still is. The original Hebrew texts are gone. The Masoretic texts date after AD. The Septuagint is a translation from 300 or so BC. You do not have to be Jewish to be saved, in fact many who have turned from Christianity to Judaism seem to have set up all things Jewish as just one more idol. The “Law” does not apply to gentile Christianity. No biggy, It didn’t apply to Abraham either. Or Noah. Follow the God, of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as well as Jesus ( regardless how you pronounce it.). Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and mind and strength and your neighbor as yourself. When we have done all that, worry about learning Hebrew and Greek and probably Aramaic too.

He taught us to try to treat others as we wish to be treated, and not just each other but nature and all living things, and to speak/seek truth. Which means to stop judging others and ourselves, stop being mindless consumers, stop being mindless in general.. Compassion and forgiveness and truth is what he taught. Plain and simple. And he was meant to be the final innocent blood sacrifice to YHvH to end the cruelty so that a new age could be had.. But of course a devil isn't bound to a deal or it's word. Maybe he wasn't special needs, and thus not innocent enough, or maybe he wasn't an albino so his blood wasn't "magical" enough for a satisfying sacrifice to Satan himself. Like the kids being kidnapped and sacrificed in Africa as well as around the world today.
