Im finding that the more I look at Hublot the more I love it - they are far and away one of the most influential, creative, inventive and exciting companies going around. They arent easy, they arent designed for everyone but that's what make them great. The world doesn't need more shoot for the center, yacht rock, edgy as a bath sponge beige - there are more than enough 'timeless' and 'versatile' watches filling that space. I cant afford a Sang Bleu, Unico GMT or Orlinski but god I'd love one.

🤣 edgy as a bath sponge beige 🤣 love seeing comments like these, but totally agree - I love that Hublot is willing to take those risks and sure not all of them work out but at least they try out different things as opposed to following the same formula. Fingers crossed more Hublot videos to come soon :)

Hublot has a good punch with some of the models. Would love to see maybe an elite in the CF line. Good vidoe bro and this one is a great watch. Sad they haven’t it In the lineup currently

For sure, I think even if they don't go full in house they should put the Elite into the CF and ditch the Sellita version. It's a great movement but 8.8k for a Sellita is too much, especially when they have such a good movement in-hosue with the HUB1300 or in group with the Elite

💯 I think they should bring this movement back, or at the very least use the Zenith Elite movement like they just did in the new Big Bang Integral Time Only. IMO the SW300 is a perfectly good movement but for a near 9k retail price the CF needs something a bit more special :)

Development of materials and movements does cost a lot and Hublot seems to share it to all their models. So some models look ridiculously expensive, but some are relatively acceptable.

Very fair point, a lot of that money from the Sellita equipped base models of the CF & Big Bang is what lets them develop movements like the ultra-thin one in the video, or the Unico movement, the crazy LaFerrari watch, or make innovations like different colored ceramics & magic gold.

While many of their watches are hideous I like the Big Bang Integral in titanium. However, I just don’t love their handful of cool watches at the prices they command. My wife even found a fuchsia Hublot she kind of liked, but again, at a stupid price point. Well done as always - interesting to learn a litttle bit about Hublot. They are derided when I’d argue at least they are innovating and rereleasing the same old, tired watches from the 50’s and 60’s. However, this model is not to for me. It’s like Bahausus 2050. For me, part of being in the hobby is discovering a new watch, a new brand, or simply changing your opinion on a brand. While it doesn’t happen a lot, my opinion of Fredrick Constant has gone way up, while my opinion on a few other brands have definitely fallen. Heck, when I got into the hobby 3 1/2 years ago, I was neutral about Zenith and now they’ve gone from one of my favorite brands to my FAVORITE brand.

For sure, their prices (especially retail prices) are still a bit hard to justify - but I do like that some of their new releases are starting to at least add some more value behind them, and on the pre-owned market there are gems like this that have taken enough of a depreciation hit to make them quite a good deal. I also agree they're actually quite an innovative brand, they might not always get it right with some of their designs (the Sang Bleu really isn't my vibe) but at least they're not afraid to try it - and they've actually made some pretty cool developments on the materials front when it comes to colored ceramics or their magic gold (which i don't like the look of but admire the engineering it must have taken to create it) I do quite like the FC Highlife series, I'd love to get my hands on their perpetual calendar or worldtimer for a review :D

I will agree that this piece is relatively inoffensive and even a bit nice looking. Unfortunately (and I may be being shallow here) the brand itself is a bit too poisoned for me to even consider spending my hard saved money on one when I could get a Blancpain or JLC for a similar amount. I really like that you are challenging the watch community orthodoxy though, keep it up!

Fair enough, and can’t go wrong with a nice JLC or Blancpain which admittedly will edge it out on the movement finishing, but yeah I always like finding those gems that break the stereotypes (I’m a big fan of the Rolex Cellini Prince too 😁 can’t wait to do a vid on one of those once I find one to film)

The Classic Fusion is a swallowable jagged little pill. I don’t like big, shiny, overly complex dials so I’ve always disregarded Breitling. 2 years ago I purchased the most unBreitling Breitling a prior generation Marine blue Colt 41. Became of the thicker bezel it looks more like a 39mm, nice details on the dial without being too busy, and the best part it is entirely brushed…case and bracelet.

people simply turn a blind eye to the materials used in Hublot watches. Give other brands those materials and they ll cost way more expensive than an Hublot. This brand is easy enough to understand-you pay for what you get. They have everything you want be it unique materials, inhouse movements, eta movements, open work dial, skeletonised dial, regular dial, cool straps, integrated bracelets, etc. Haters keep beating the dead horse coz they dunno nth about what they say, but do go ahead, Hublot has never been stranger to braindead watch snobbery

💯 i think that a lot of people in the watch community just jump on the band wagon to hate it just because, when the reality is they have watches to suit all tastes, and in so many ways they push the envelope on innovation & design in ways that a lot of other companies are too scared to do

@@ShahLusso Speaking of innovation and design, do all Richemond group brands share the same watch case mould? Nobody ever had a problem with that. And when Hublot steps out of the zone to try things that brands follow or will follow, people condemn it to hell picking the old sad points no more than screw alignment and eta movement (btw how does IWC get away with 7750). But at the end of the day, does Hublot care? Hell no, check how much they make every year and how big LVMH is, and not forget Hublot is the leading watch brand in the group with Zenith and Tag Heuer following behind

Get a bell and ross if you want aligned screws, which actually defeat the purpose of the whole porthole design inspiration
