As they are saying in the news out here that no water system anywhere has the amount of water they went thru for Palisades fire in the continuous hours of fire fighting. I grew up in city of LA and was there until I retired and move to outskirts of LA County. I remember a number of fires over the decades especially in the Santa Monica mountains which is part of the Palisades and don't remember so many fires at one time happening. In past fires were in one of those areas but not all of them. Recovery from these fires is going to take years after the fires are out.

I believe the guest is completely wrong about the water pressure issue. There was no water in the water basin, because it was rumored that it was down for 9 months for simple maintenance. However if it was full of water, due to the height of it, water pressure is a non-issue. There was no water pressure because there was not enough available water. If the Governor and the Water Superintendent did their jobs (and didn’t allow all drainage water to flow in the ocean), the water would of been there and more houses would of been saved. And there would of had been a better chance of containing the fire. I believe this is a known fact. Imo, they did Not protect their own people! There is No excuse for this...

Incompetence is standard now in the u.s... think about your own workplace. We as a society reward incompetence. Poor performers are often incentivized. People are hired, promoted, elected more due to bias, favoritism, nepotism, name recognition/clout, charisma, and brown nosing. It's a societal problem for us. Character, work ethic, and competence are often an afterthought.

@@souloshinobi7307 Umm maybe The DEI Mayor shouldn’t have cut the 17 million budget from Fire Dept and asked last wk for another 49 million budget cut. They need 62 more fire stations opened. They are under funded and under staffed and the Mayor has continued to cut the budget. They have trucks that need parts to fix them, and they can’t afford to buy parts for them. Mayor Karen Bass has no compassion and doesn’t care. She should resign or be FIRED..

This is such a tragic event. I feel for everyone involved. Obviously, the conditions were perfect for a wide spread of many wildfires. But there were obviously many failures from local officials related to preparation for this type of crisis. Wildfires are relatively common. Imo, the people in charge didn’t do thier jobs. What complete breakdown of basic safety preparation across the board.

Newsome and Bass have to resign period … Newsome hasn’t done sh!t for California or the homelessness crisis. Now he wants funding to help this problem. He’s had funding to fix the fire problems where did that money go? Bass just got exposed for wanting to cut 49 million more funding last Friday from the Fire Dept before she went to Ghana. Fire dept said they can’t even afford to fix their trucks they have no money. She still hasn’t said anything to the residents of LA County. Not one apology for any lives being lost or the damage this has costed what she is going to do in efforts to fix it. So no she is not qualified to be in her position. She should resign respectfully. DEI hire. Non compassion. I’d be embarrassed to call her my Mayor of anything. Newsome is a joke and making excuses.
