Do you know how to get a bunny to like being petted? I’ve done everything I can to get my bunny to like it but she absolutely hates it 😞 she likes laying in bed with me, sometimes she takes naps. She just doesn’t like being petted and that makes me kinda sad

@@baileymcdonald6892 don’t try to hold her when petting her most rabbits hate being picked up no matter how much they trust you. try petting her when you’re feeding her so she links being pet to something she likes, but if that doesn’t work maybe that’s just her personality.

@@baileymcdonald6892 Put a tiny bit of banana or other favorite soft food on the back of your hand/finger if you trust her not to nibble. You could otherwise put it on your leg or jeans if you don't mind washing. She will likely try to lick the soft treat off from you, instead of taking a firm treat and running to eat it in secret. Her licking you will encourage her to let you rub her forehead or pet her to return the "grooming" behavior. As she becomes more comfortable with this exchange, she'll likely "ask you" to groom her with your hands or feet when she wants attention and is near you.

This happened to me unexpectedly as well. I was visiting my old neighborhood from childhood and found a rabbit in a cage. I got to talk to the family, who were very friendly and open to discussing rabbit care. I am not sure how much of an impact I made but I did give them a big bag of my hay and watched a few of your videos with the young girls there. I wrote down your channel and saved it on their phone. I hope the bunny is doing okay.

This situation gave me mixed emotions. It makes me feel sad to see a bunny existing outdoors in those kinds of conditions. I am happy You, ladies, handled it well and used the right tone, vocabulary, and energy so they would allow you both to help because your main focus was on the poor bunny. I hope they keep him inside from now on and I hope they lose that idea of getting a female. I couldn't imagine. I don't want to. As bunny owner, this made me tear up! My husband works at people's homes and has seen several dead pet rabbits outside in small cages. We live in a state that has extreme temperatures and lots of outdoor predators, so bunnies don't last long outside. It breaks my heart that so many people get pet rabbits without knowing how to properly care for them. People like you are guardian angels for these buns! So nice! So many people aren’t told how to care for their bunnies. We love our Holland lop! She’s litter trained and is in our living room. We interact with her daily and she’s very bonded to us. Rabbits are amazing pets, but every pet needs proper care.

This had my heart full. I'm a new bunny mom and I only had Haku for about a little over a month or so. He's six months old, and we're all adjusting to having him with us. We can tell he's happy, but I also plan on doing a much-needed bunny make over for his outside cage and the inside as well. My little boy only stays in his outside cage during bedtime, or when we're not home. Winter is on the way and I absolutely have to winterize his home so he and his sister, Sandy as comfortable as possible.

This channel is so educational and amazing. I have two little ones and they literally own my bedroom. They'll let me know if my new furniture isn't the vibe. Having your bunnies inside really allows you to bond so much better. They know my routine and give me cuddles and kisses when I'm doing my skincare at night. I love the way you two approached this and how you communicated with the family re making the changes for the bunny. I think it made all the difference. I live in New Zealand and it is still so unusual for rabbits to be inside as part of the family. Mine live inside and have a whole room, but I still get such weird comments from people. It is still too common for rabbits to live outside in hutches as they are seen as outside pets, also we have a huge pest issue with rabbits here which doesn't help peoples views. We also don't have all the awesome resources, enrichment and toys for bunnies here and very expensive to purchase online so have to do lots of DIY stuff. The only good thing is we don't have severe weather and not the predators that the US has. Spaying and neutering is not as common here, but it is changing. I am learning so much from you and your approach and my goal is to help as many bunnies as I can and educate people on their care as they are such amazing pets.

Our bun is a free range indoor / outdoor bun. It's too cold today so he is staying inside. We put him in "bunny jail (cage)" at night in the house to keep him safe from foxes and his bad behavior...lol I'm teleworking today so he'll have free roam of the house all day.

Good job. Fluffy is precious. I hope they treat him well. I have a double lionhead that needed a lot of care when I adopted her. She had been mostly caged, was literally blinded by the overgrown fur on her face, her unclipped nails were curled under, and I'm pretty sure I brushed out a literal bucketful of fur from her. What was once a scared, unkempt bunny has turned out to be the sweetest pet ever. She's now entirely free roam, has a healthy diet, zoomies around every morning, and every morning and evening comes up on my bed for cuddles.

I have a bad feeling that they will not stick to it and were just going along with what they said to get rid of them. I hope that I am wrong I really do. It was very kind of Lorelei and Charlotte to have gotten all that stuff knowing they would not be reimbursed. It would have added up financially. It would be a drain on Lorelei’s financial resources if she does that a lot. My bunny is not quite free roam but has an entire room to herself. I am terrified to let her run around outside because the neighbourhood cats are always fighting outside or hanging around out there. The family obviously did not care enough about the bunny to do research beforehand or spend time with the bunny. I feel angry with them. I am not sure if I would or could have been as pleasant about as Lorelei and Charlotte.

I wish I was as brave as you, I just moved to Ohio and there's a bunny being kept in a small hutch outside, with a pen attached to it thats honestly short enough for the bunny to escape. Hi Lorelei! I’m 13, and I just got my fourth bunny. This might be a long story, just FYI. Ever since I was 5 years old, bunnies were my favorite animal. My fifth birthday party was at a farm, and it was bunny themed. My next birthday party was also bunny themed. My dad gave all my friends bunny face paint, and my mom set up a table of “bunny themed” food(for example- marshmallows for bunny tails). I was surprised with a company called “Bunnies for Birthdays” coming to my party, along with around 10 bunnies! They also convinced my parents to let them give me my own bunny. I named it Shyla, after a stuffed animal I got at the farm. About a month later, they got my brother a bunny from the same breeder, and he named it Whisper. They lived in a hutch in our backyard, then we moved (literally) across the country(from Washington to Florida). The bunnies definitely hated Florida. We obviously couldn’t keep them outside, so they lived in the garage(which had an AC system-they couldn’t live inside because my mom was allergic). Fast forward less than a year(because Florida sucks(in my opinion at least)), we moved to Colorado. The first two years we lived there, they were diagnosed with maggots twice, and weren’t allowed outside anymore. That second year, when we went on a camping trip and left them with a family member(who is not at all at fault), they passed away. They hadn’t eaten or drank in a day, and most likely had maggots again. We miss you, Shyla and Whisper. Then, last December, my dad got re-married(after my parents got divorced in 2021) to my step-mom, who has a bunny. In September, one of the rabbits at my counseling office had babies. I fell in love with them, and convinced my dad and step-mom to let me get one(they were up for adoption). I also convinced them to let it live in my room, so that it got more attention. We got little Marshmallow (it’s name) on Wednesday, and my dad has already sent me pictures, proving that it’s getting to come out and play. I am so happy that Marshmallow is getting to live a better life than Shyla and Whisper did, and thank you for inspiring me to make that happen. Love you guys 🩷

Such a great video! 💛 I helped a family once that bought a hamster for their five year old from Petco. Poor little guy was living in a tiny cage, with little bedding, and a small wheel. I made a bin cage for him, and I brought the family appropriate hamster supplies. They were so grateful! After month or so, they asked me if I could take him home because the 5 year-old almost killed him. 😩 Of course I brought him home and gave him a comfy life. He was my first Syrian hamster, Speedy. 🐹 May he rest in peace.
