There's a bit of survivorship bias at play here. That is - these sorts of oversights are probably much more common than we realize, but typically the outcome isn't so dramatic. Like the SS lady who abandoned her post to go breastfeed. Pretty terrible, she created a huge security risk by doing so, but... nothing came of it. Not that it really makes it any better, but it does lend credence to the "rote incompetence" theory as opposed to the "nefarious conspiracy" theory. Doesn't rule out the latter, just saying it makes it more difficult to rule out the former.

Hell, I helped out as a campus supervisor for local schools during covid and would have handled communications better than this disaster. However as I'm sure you're aware, what you do doesn't mean much unless those with the authority to make decisions care to listen and act on it. The SS didn't even take radios to communicate directly with what were effectively their security guards. Everything was filtered to a command center like a big game of telephone and somehow that still failed. It doesn't take a mastermind to know that high level security comes with gathering as much information about the surroundings as possible and having near-perfect communication protocols. It doesn't get much higher level than the SS so it's very hard to believe it's always 'incompetence'... the term people love to use to bail out some of the highest level people in the country from being accountable for their actions (or lack thereof).

The fact that the AGR building and rooftop were outside the scope of Secret Service protection coverage should not be overlooked. It obviously should have been included based on the events that unfolded. One also has to wonder why the Secret Service communications center was located so far away from the communications setup for the supporting local law enforcement agencies. They should have been co-located and continuously sharing information if there was to be complete situational awareness of their security posture. It's a hot mess, as is much of our government. Based on the historical pattern, I expect there will also be no accountability for it. Congressional hearings have become political theater.

By the time I got home a couple hours later, it was nearly impossible to get my boot off. And could barely walk on it the next day before going to the orthopod. A week later, the entire bottom of the cast was crushed and there was no pain from the break which had healed. The ankle was another story. As soon as the cast was off, I couldn't stand on that foot. In my case, the Dr. said it would have been better if the ankle had broken. 3 month before I could put weight on it to climb a ladder. Each injury is different and the officer who was under stress at the time may not have even known that he was injured or how badly. But when your ankle turns purple and the bottom of your foot turns black, you know it isn't good. His ankle could also have started showing color that indicated it was worse than he thought. And why he went to the doctor.

DjStew vids do show his arms swinging alot. I don't an hand pause for tap. *Why if his hand tapped mic, is his the only cam that doesn't start recording after 30sec delay? On other cams, you get a long Beep as turns on & blip prior making call. The questions that Collins ask while he's up on the roof make him sound like he'd just got to the rodeo.

The big question which it seems that no one asked here is when one of the Secret Service operation guy said that he was communicated through the radio that the police have identified a guy on a rooftop with a rifle and he said that he deployed the quick response team to that location to deal with the situation, while the correct action would be to give the order for the agents on the stage to remove and secure Trump because of a possible imminent threat since a guy was identified with a rifle on a rooftop.... This should've been of priority over the deployment of the quick response team, professional Secret Service agents should have known that the priority was to secure Trump immediately when a threat was imminent....why then he didn't give that alarm to the agents on the stage and chose to deploy the response team instead which obviously takes some time for the team to arrive to that location, just enough time for the shooter to take his shots... from the time he received the information through the radio and when the shots were fired was 20- 30 seconds just enough time to remove Trump from the stage... which didn't happen because he didn't give that order .....why??? And this is the biggest question, I'm not a Secret Service agent, no millions of dollars worth of training, I worked in private security as a simple security officer but if I was in charge with the coordination of operations that day and I would hear in the radio that the police have identified a guy on a rooftop with a rifle, my first action would be to radio the agents on the stage to secure Trump immediately as it's an imminent threat..............I don't believe that this is incompetence, I can't, the only logical answer is that they acted like this to allow the shooter to take his shots!!! ⌛⚖️👁️

There's a channel on youtube that shows the body cams of the cops that were scrambling there. I'm surprised that footage hasn't been shown more widely. It shows the initial contact with Crooks by the cop that climbed up the roof and cut his hand when he saw Crooks with the rifle. It shows all the cops scrambling around the perimeter of the building in front of the fence trying to see the guy on the roof. It shows the cops fiddling with a ladder to get on the roof. It shows them trying to figure out how to operate a telescopic ladder. About that time, a secret service agent shows up to get involved (figures how to use the telescoping ladder). It does show the step ladder that many thought Crooks used was, in fact, put there by the police. That was all put on youtube weeks ago. Body cam videos of all those cops. Including a few clips of them inside the AGR Building. The stuff in this video is nothing. It's not even useful.

I have been suspecting that Crooks may have been something like a Manchuria candidate. No one from law enforcement did any for about an hour even though many people knew he was there. The roof was a clear line of sight to Trump. Crooks was able to get off 8 aimed shots if that report was right. He was then killed almost at once. No one can question him.This means much less mess as was seen when President Kennedy was assassinated.

Secret Service is ultimately in charge of a venue. Troopers and local police did react appropriately, doing what was expected of them. The expectation was that the Secret Service was better prepared than it was, and that threats would be recognized, quickly assessed and neutralized. Instead it was ill prepared, including communication with local law enforcement.

What about this latest attempt at his golf course? This guy was camped out for 12 hours with all that gear right up against the fence? So, before Trump goes out to play golf, wouldn't the first thing you do is put a couple agents on a golf cart to ride the entire parameter? That's all they would have had to do, is drive that fence and they would have seen the guy there. It doesn't make any sense and also look at the fact that there are not only no attempts on any democrats, but the Democrats aren't even beefing up their own security. Kamala still goes out to her rallies with regular security and out in public it's like they know they have nothing to worry about. Normally, and until you found out who ordered these people to do this, you would beef up security on both sides, because it could be coming from an outside source. An outside source doesn't really care which one they get as long as they disrupt the entire process. So, they know they are safe, but how? The only answer is that the attempts are coming directly from them, they have control over the attempts and therefore don't have to worry. I truly believe these attempts on Trump came straight from the top.
