That was a very compassionate statement from Sadhguru, he could have said don't kill yourself because it's wrong, but because it's a subject that has also shaped him (parting earthly ways with his own love... Sometimes moving away is good when you love but others don’t too. Also there may be other reasons. Moving away because of bad emotional patterns can be the most noble thing. When you love everyone and emotional patterns get in the way. Pain is distracting. Pain comes from a lot of things. Sometimes not at all what you would think. But this is awesome advice in general. Love is unity in heart and spirit. So if another person has issues it will affect you. Especially if you love them. And especially if they don’t understand love. We feel intensely hurt when having conflict with loved one, maybe something they said or did. If someone we don't care about does or says similar things, it may not hurt as much, maybe not at all. The situation where one can't live without the other and at same time can't live with the other person's ways is a dilemma for inner suffering. Sathguru's first line in this message usually takes precedence and life goes on as a compromise.

He means you don't have to break completely apart or change yourself to distance yourself from the failed relationship. You also shouldn't 'kill' youself sacrificing everything you have and are for a relationship that just isn't working. I will disagree with him a bit on the just walk away part. Sit down and discuss with your partner why it isn't working. Not only does this have the possibility of fixing whatever the problem is, but it gives you insight on how to avoid said problem in the future with later relationships if you do decide to leave. It also avoids resentment on the other side from abandonment. No one likes someone disappearing for no reason at all. It causes more issues than it fixes. So by all means, leave a relationship if it truly isn't working, but talk about it with the person you are leaving first.
