I feel like I can relate to your situation. I was 25 and met my BF at the time he was 23. We were together 5 years and in those 5 years it was nothing but great times and memories. He ended getting a promotion/relocation with his job to London. Something he could not pass up. We both lived in Los Angeles. There was no way for me to move to London since we were not married and I didn't have a job that could move me to the UK. We decided to break up and not to try the long distance relationship. It was a tough few years, seeing him move on with life without me, but I came to realize it was better for me/us individually to grow as adults. We remain friends but rarely see each other now and an occasional birthday card. I am 36 now. He is in a relationship in London and I am in one myself. I will say in those 6+ years since our break up i have grown so much. Our lives have moved on. As cheesy as it sounds I am happy he is doing well in life and I hope he thinks the same of me. Good luck with the future for both of you.

Of the two strongest couples I followed on you tube, they are now two for two. One after five years and the other after 10. I have no idea what has caused either breakup. Each relationship is unique in its sadness. I have been in an LTR, now marriage, for 38 years. I know of the 7 year itch and the ten year curse. I just hope no one broke up for either of those reasons. If you did, then remember that most LTR's go through these phases (we did). If you haven't already, find a marriage counselor or a pastor you can talk to. Remember how much you mean to each other. And above all, always remember that compromise is the key to staying together. Dan, I have been through this EXACT same thing. It is the most scary, horrible feeling ever to feel like the ground, your support system has been taken from beneath your feet. But what results from this will make life so much more consistently great for you in the long run. You'll develop the independence, and ability to take complete ownership and power over your own experiences and life to a degree that is almost impossible when in a very intimate relationship. This is likely the most painful, but incredibly character and life building experience you'll go through. There is a life that you will lead that is free from chronic anxiety and uneasiness, and this forceful push down a path you were not expecting will lead you there. My best advice, is to imagine Dan a few years from now coming to talk to you about all the places he's been, and the ways he's become happier and more confident; the wonderful new life he's living; more vital and alive than ever before.

I'm sorry that you two are going through this. My ex partner and I went through something similar. We moved across the country to Boston. A few months after the move we ended our relationship. I moved out of the condo and laster my partner moved out. We still loved each other and talked. Both of us started seeing other people and went throughout depression and lost our selfs and found our selfs. It's been a year now and we started seeing each other again and talking about our future together. Just because your relationship has changed, the love is still there. Maybe all you need is time. Time for you, time to grow and learn. Time to fail and brake down. If your love is strong, you may come together in time. You two will always be friends and be there for each other, thats better than most. And Dan, don't live alone. Having someone there, even if you don't talk, just watch tv together, helps. It helps a lot. My housemates helped me with my depression so much just by being there.

Maybe if you need a little vacation apart or to spend more time doing things separately to balance out your lives I could agree with that, but there is some honest love in this video! You guys can do this! My ex and I were together for 17 years and it took a year of still living together and sleeping in the same bed to untangle ours lives. Ten years later we are still best friends who talk at least once a week. Good luck to you both! And I will keep following you both!

I can see by watching this vlog, that you both truly love each other. Please do not give up on love. I was married to my husband for over a year, but we separated for about 18 months. During that time, my husband dated other men, but when it came right down to it, we both realized how much we still loved each other and we decided to renew our vows.
