In order to get out of his deal with the Kettlemans, Jimmy takes their stolen money away.
#BetterCallSaul #MoneyBags #JimmyMcGill
From Season 1, Episode 7 'Bingo' - The Kettlemans seek Jimmy as their lawyer after turning down an offer from HHM, going as far as attempting to blackmail him.
Watch now!: play.google.com/store/tv/show...
Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Which makes no sense as to why he hates Mike in Breaking Bad and acts as if he doesn't know him. He complains to Walter White that Mike is aggressive and threatening, and asks Walter if it's a good idea that Mike will take care of business. After that, he happily helps Walter White hide Mike's assassination, making it seem like he went on a trip to Belize. I cannot imagine Jimmy in this scene being so vindictive against Mike, and also not in Breaking Bad, after all the conflicts that they've faced together as as team.

@@Creeporium yeah but I’m pretty sure in BCS up until the end of season 3 of BB, Mike never acted as serious as he did with Jimmy/Saul to the point where he threatened to break his legs and leave him in a ditch for refusing to give up intel on his client (Jesse). Between the heat from Gus aimed toward Walt and Jesse that could’ve easily have applied to him as well and Mike’s threat, that’s why he rehired Huell as his bodyguard again

This scene shows Jimmy wasn't a lost cause or wasn't beyond saving. He did give honesty and doing "the right thing" a legitimate try, but it didn't amount to anything for him and his life. I think that that was more representative of him being slow. His brain was having having trouble with accepting that his circumstance had just dramatically because doing so would be uncomfortable and take mental energy. Instead of putting together the information available immediately as his wife had done, he was still reaching for a more convenient explanation because having that wouldn't force hime to accept that his reality had changed. He wasn't so much enabling his wife in that instance as he was being left behind by her. Part of his intent in saying that may have been to calm her, but it would have been useless since she grasped the situation and understood that he didn't grasp it yet.

Watching Jimmy deal with the Kettlemans reminds me a lot of Ted in Breaking Bad. Saul is well experienced with the kind of person Ted is, because the Kettlemans acted the exact same way. No remorse for his economic crimes and no intention of changing his ways. That's why he said "I told you so" to Skyler after Ted refused to pay his taxes.

i love how in this show the main characters are constantly in internal moral conflict bur keep on being pulled down by those around them. whether its chuck, Lalo, Hector, Mike's family (financial problems), death of a good samaritan, relationships, the bar etc... like when Jimmy was forced to become a friend of the cartel. (Lalo told him he can leave, but jimmy knew he had no real choice) in contrast, in breaking bad walter white is choosing to step away from morality, and with it, everyone around him goes down aswell.

The path of Jimmy and mike is a tragedy. I feel like Mike was starting to respect him when he said "what are you doing" and I would think it reminded mike of his son who wouldn't take the money and did "the right thing." The irony is that chuck stabbing Jimmy in the back may caused both of their down fall. Many times through the series Mike seemed depressed with the way he was going I will never forget when he said "It was nice to fix something for a change." Had Jimmy continued to be moral Mike may have seen an "honorable thief" to take under his wing and been able to keep from falling too far. But as Jimmy fell Mike fell too and the rest is history.
