@ Mike’s arc pre-BCS revolves around being a crooked cop in the service of other crooked cops that would never truly face justice for the awful things they did. It’s why he killed Hoffman and Fenske after they murdered his son instead of trying to out them It would make sense a man like that would have a bit of reservations about the judicial system

Its not that wise and is very separated from the human emotion which is what Saul wants. Thats why they arent friends, they are in dire opposition to how they view emotions being brought into the equation. Mike is somber, silent, and doesnt let anything affect his actions. Jimmy is bombastic, emotional, and is driven by his emotions which is where the jokes and deflection come from. They agree in a lot of ways but Jimmy wants answers and Mike wants secrets.

Every one of these scenes, Mike says in one way or another for Jimmy to move on. At any point if Jimmy actually listened to that man for a second, literally nothing moving forward would be possible. This entire story is a lit fuse and Jimmy constantly keeps it from getting snuffed out. As he says in the end "Walter White couldn't have done it without me" We basically got the frame story to Breaking Bad.

Why? I'm sure Jimmy knows Mike is trying to help him but look how different they are in terms of processing things. In fairness an assassin for a cartel boss isn't exactly great therapy That's why Jimmy specifically asked how long it will take someone like him to process it. Mike's is already over it. It was still good advice Mike gave him but I'm sure that's the end of Mike talking to him about it. Can you imagine calling Mike at midnight and being like "hey this is messing with me"? Even though Mike was a killer he wasn’t always that way before. He’s a man of substance who loved and cared for his family. Saul/Jimmy showed that his whole life was about money. As he proved out in the desert with the conversation with Mike at the water well. He became full Saul after Kim left and there was no turning back.

@@bloemkoolendestreetgang450 Pretty sure he did know Mike normally works for Gus but he also used to do jobs for Jimmy and worked in the courthouse garage so Jimmy definitely could have explained it without it being because of Gus And yeah Lalo might not have liked it but it seems hard to argue when transporting 7 million and a bunch of guys try to kill you. The protection was definitely needed It's not a great situation either way but lying to Lalo certainly turned out worse. Plus how'd those guys even know Jimmy would be there? Seems like it would have gotten out they all were taken out I guess it just goes to show why it's never a good idea to get involved with the cartel

24:10 When I first watched this scene, I hated Saul for just giving Jessie up that quickly because I thought that he'd "protect" them even if just a little bit. I was so hyped when we find out later that he just played Mike like a fiddle here lmfao :DD
