Mistake of GTRE is directly to attempt for high thrust engine. Japan started low thrust engine and gradually enhanced the high thrust. Anyhow whatever they achieved in first attempt is great. Overweight, low thrust, vibration and melting blades. Mostly of problems are sorted out except low thrust.

Why does India still not have a high Altitude test facility with flying testbed? Still relying on Russia or even France for flight testing engine slows everything down for no good reason.

There's a report on Argentina Ambassador saying that Argentine fighter pilots praised Tejas highly and Argentina put Tejas on the list for consideration. Make a video on that.

Tejas has parts from UK. UK & Agentina don't have good relationship.

Great news India can now use this engine in Tejas as the US is unable to produce F 404 engine as required by HAL.

Hope GTRE can achieve this goal. GTRE has pretty poor track record with engines. India and China started around the same time in 80's. They seem to be much further than India.

We should have our own high altitude flight test bed . I mean to have a Kaveri engine Integrated in LCA as test bed. We can do it, our secients are capable to do it. Jai Hind Jai Bharat 🇮🇳

It is great news that our own fighter jets would be used as test beds for upcoming engines. But using Tejas for dry test run is bit risky since it has only one engine , it will crash if engine develops issue during high altitude tests. Better to get a Su30mki with twin engines to run such thrust trials dry and wet - since the Flanker can return home on one engine if the other fails , flying steady. The change in Tejas gearbox and starting mechanism is probably due to a trial run before production - since our Tejas has mechanisms to turnoff and restart engine mid air at high altitude using airflow. A perspective GE F404 dry thrust - 48Kn, wet thrust - 78kn tested Kaveri core dry thrust - 48.8Kn, wet thrust - 72kn( tested)/Kaveri 2.0 - 85Kn (projected) Kaveri 2.0 will fully meet Tejas Mk1A requirements.

A Kaveri 3.0 also needs to be funded when Kaveri 2.0 wraps up.

India should have the Kaveri 2.0 or whatever ready with Snecma help in leu of Rafale order and have it tested in Rafale testing platform, and use it for LCA Mk1 all version, plus any other products requiring that class of power.

It will take another 40 years to get full military certifications from IAF to be used for fighter jets next!! Better just go in for Safran-GTRE-HAL 110 KN to 120 KN max. wet thrusts engines developments soon!

Sir, atleast start first step. Upgradation is continual process. If we certify 46 kn dry engine. Next will be insertion of after burner or wet engine. 80-84 kn means surety for 220 Tejas MK1 series.

We r for 30 yrs unable to manufacture, forget pioneering, a heavy rocket or jet engine. This is cheap copy of some US engineering colleges. And we r boasting for nothing.
