So timely. Found you with a Google search and my company is rolling out breakouts after Labor Day. This was incredibly helpful, thank you.

Great function and tutorial! Is there a way to broadcast video to all breakout groups, or only text?
@HughCorbyCruick3 жыл бұрын
I like this new feature, but was wondering how we can give individual assignments to each of the breakouts. For instance, how would I assign each breakout their own problem to work on? It looks like I would either have to type into the "broadcast message" box of each group their unique assignment (while the others are waiting) or give them their written assignment in advance. It doesn't look like they can find an assignment - such as either a written document or advance message - inside the breakout once they enter it.

Reach out to your Cisco AM and SE. I would have them bubble up the feedback.

How do I as the presenter share my screen with all breakout groups, for example a powerpoint slide that has instructions/structure for their breakout session?

If you want participants to be in the breakout sessions for 5 minutes and come back to the main session 5 minutes (going back an forth 3 times) with the same group of people in the breakout sessions, how can we do that ? or we need to add them to the breakout session manually ?

Hi! Yes I missed that feature. When you press it, the host gets a pop up message that says "attendee X is asking for help" then asks if you want to join that breakout session.

Hi Sal, I read over most of the comments but could not come across this scenario. I'm hosting a meeting with 80 participants. I have to assign them manually spread over 3 breakout rooms. Each participant will have chosen in advance which two of the three breakout rooms they wish to join. The agenda is built so that we start in plenary to give me time to assign everyone to their first room. Mid-meeting we reconvene in plenary so that I can assign folks to their second room of their choice. Each time they're split over three brooms. I've done such an event once already and found it quite challenging time-wise. Maybe because it was my first time. Do you have suggestions for how I can make it less challenging, more seemless? FYI, despite the hicups the first time around, my team decided to do it again. Thank you in advance.

Hi Great video. Can all the breakout sessions appear in the main session right panel so attendees can join or leave whichever breakout they want, like you did? Or is that only for hosts and or presenters/panelists? Thanks!
@CiscoSal3 жыл бұрын
What you can do is change the role of the pepole that need that capability to co-host. Then those select people can move in and out.

Is there any way to get your settings to stick for all meetings? For example, I don't want a 60 second countdown click, but a 10 second one for each meeting?
@CiscoSal3 жыл бұрын
There are templates you can play around with. I don't think there is much in there for breakout sessions. I would get with your webex CSM and go over what you are looking to do. They can recommend the best way of doing it.

Great tutorial, question...what is I want participants to attend more than one breakout session in the course of a 2 hour WebEx meeting...can that be done?

Thank you! This was so clear. I have a question: can I take participants out of their breakout group and then send them back in the same room , with the same people? I have big classes, so it helps me to have the feature that creates the groups automatically, but I would like to be able to stop the sessions, have a little debrief, and send them back with the same students to continue their work. Is this possible? Thanks.
@CiscoSal3 жыл бұрын
Yes totally possible. Once you set the breakout session they are saved for that webex meeting. So as long as you don’t end the meeting they will already be assigned when you go back into breakout mode.
@irafabri12823 жыл бұрын
@@CiscoSal Thank you! And what if instead, I want to send them to a different group during the same session? Sorry, I should have asked that question the first time :-)
@CiscoSal3 жыл бұрын
Yeah no problem. You can move the student around how ever you like
@baystatehealthmediaservice46623 жыл бұрын
This was helpful. Thanks. I was hoping it might be possible to set up breakout sessions that attendees can choose to enter. Not be randomly or intentionally assigned to. That's not possible it is?
@CiscoSal3 жыл бұрын
Correct. Your two options are random assignment or host decides who goes into what room. The attendees do have the option to not join the rooms right away. So they technically can join the room themselves. They just can’t pick their own room or who’s in it. Thanks for the comment!
@baystatehealthmediaservice46623 жыл бұрын
@@CiscoSal Thanks for the reply!
@CiscoSal3 жыл бұрын
No problem. You could also make people co-hosts. I think in 40.10 coming out next month, you can say anyone in your organization can be automatically assigned co-host functionality. So if they are co-host they can create breakout room groups. Probably a few different ways of doing what you want. Just need to see what makes most sense for your origination. Good luck!
@lisamarx10393 жыл бұрын
I thought you can create a breakout session, well at least in Training Center, and have people select which one they want to join by going up to the Breakout Menu and select which one they want to attend without being a cohost?

How many participants with video can I have inside of each breakout session? I mean that fit in the window.
@CiscoSal3 жыл бұрын
25 is the max right now. You can scroll over and see more pages of people. Unless you have a huge monitor anything over that might make it difficult to see. Since the squares would be so tiny.

This was really helpful. Is there a way to assign the participants ahead of time? I am working with 50 participants and have never done breakout sessions before so it is a bit intimidating. I have a problem with preassigning registered participants in the Webex Meetings Center. After clicking "create" everything is fine, there are 0 registered participants left to be assigned to a session. But if I reload the page or start the meeting, everything is gone again. No participant is assigned to anything. This is driving me nuts! Help anyone? :-)
@CiscoSal3 жыл бұрын
Hi how are you scheduling the meeting? You need to be using the webex website to create and schedule the meeting
@linusharutunian84583 жыл бұрын
@@CiscoSal Hi and thanks for your reply. Yes, I schedule the meeting on the website in my account. I use the registration option, so everybody needs to fill out a form to receive the meeting link via e-mail. When I login and click on the scheduled meeting I can see how many people already registered for the meeting. i also can click on "preassign" and then assign all the registered particpants to the breakout sessions I created. After I'm done the popup closes and the meeting info says "82 participants are assigned to 2 breakout sessions, 0 are not assigned". When I refresh the page it changes again to "0 participants are assigned to 2 breakout sessions, 82 are not assigned". :(
