This woman’s milk production is a cut above the “breast.” Meet Elisabeth Anderson-Sierra, an extreme breast milk donor outside Portland, Oregon, who has shared over 200,000 ounces of her “liquid gold” with families in need - all at bargain-bin rates. She’s turned her hyperlactation syndrome into a thriving operation.
#breast #milk #donor #portland #oregon #LiquidGold #goddess #pumping #donation #breastmilk #nypost #newyorkpost
While the “pumping goddess” has become a one-of-a-kind social media influencer, her fame has also brought bizarre fetishists, breast milk-drinking bodybuilders and even robbers to her doorstep. Anderson-Sierra’s extraordinary story includes her year-long donation to baby Joaquin, whose mother died during Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
From "Extreme breast milk donor has been pumping 4 years straight" - nypost.com/2019/05/09/extreme...
This breast-feeding Portland mom has only two kids of her own, but she’s breaking records for feeding hundreds more.
Along with her two daughters, Isabella, 4 and Sophia, 2, Elisabeth Anderson-Sierra estimates she’s fed about 250 other babies with her breast milk, which she donates or sells at one dollar per ounce via a Facebook page, a common platform for the breast-milk black market.
The 31-year-old claims she’s an unofficial world-record holder for the number of ounces donated: In 2018, the official Guinness World Record was 53,081 ounces, but Anderson-Sierra tells The Post that to date she’s donated about 200,000.
Anderson-Sierra has hyperlactation syndrome, which causes her to produce 230 ounces of milk per day. That’s about eight times more than the average pumping mother, says Dr. Linda Dahl, a Midtown-based breast-feeding expert and ENT, who consults many over-producers in her practice. “It’s like they don’t have an off-switch,” Dahl says. “It’s a combination of hormones, and I bet most of her breast is made of glandular (milk-producing) tissue.”
The sale and private donation of breast milk is largely unregulated, but Anderson-Sierra could be held liable if her donations cause any harm or sickness.
Elisabeth Anderson-Sierra estimates she’s fed about 250 other babies with her breast milk, which she donates or sells at one dollar per ounce via a Facebook page, a common platform for the breast-milk black market.
Elisabeth Anderson-Sierra estimates she’s fed about 250 babies with her breast milk.Vanessa Simmons Photography
Though milk banks for over-producers exist, the lengthy screening process and pasteurization makes the final product expensive. Anderson-Sierra says that she’s seen costs of up to $10 an ounce, while she charges just a dollar per ounce.
Anderson-Sierra, who keeps frozen bricks of breast milk in industrial-size freezers in her garage, connects with clients through social media. Kathy Yao, a mother of triplets who welcomed her babies through a surrogate, is grateful for Anderson-Sierra’s milk.

@@plasmaastronautthat's a lie. Men get praised a lot. It's women who have to do stuff that is beyond their ability in order to receive praise. Women in general are more empathetic and generous. @@Ariadne4 how much praise have you given the slav men getting their guts blown out by bombs in Ukraine month? The men working in the sewers, coal mines, sulphur mines, polar oceans, logging, roofing, oil rigging, garbage processing? All these jobs are extremely dangerous, men do them and are killed and maimed at high rates. But women don't notice any of these selfless men, neither while they live, or when they die trying to make your life safer and more comfortable, and women elect not to do these thankless jobs. I will tell you how much praise you've given these men : zero. U can't even name one, and you never will. Next time u wake up, have a nice shower, put on some clean clothes, have a nice breakfast, feel healhty and fit, ask yourself why u didn't have to wake at 4am and go down bauxite mine at 6am, or sit in a trench with gangrene in your legs for a month, or work 16 hrs in a sewer. Its because, somewhere out there, there is a man doing it for you. You might want to go find him one day and thank him.

It's either she does it this way or thousands of ounces of usable breast milk gets thrown in the garbage. She took her condition and turned it into something wonderful. Salem Thorup and that’s why I wouldn’t ever get milk donation at the end of the day you truly don’t know. I couldn’t make my own and I was called a s*** mom and lazy and how I should have at least gotten donation but you never know.

@@dollsNcats, I personally think that somewhat vetted human milk is a better gamble than corn syrup formula, so I made homemade formula for my one kid that I couldn't get enough donor milk or make enough of my own. But fed is best. You fed your kid. No one should call you a bad mom. I'm sorry you were judged.

Breast feeding moms here, and what she is doing is AMAZING. It is sooo much work pumping for 1 baby, but to do it to help people is just amazing. Keep it up, you don’t know how many Babies you are truly saving from that horrible hormone, cancer ridden formula milk. Thank you ❤️

Jewel Martin My Mother donated (to a San Francisco Calif Hospital) breastmilk in the 60's & for about 10 years. There also were NO "pumping machines, so it was HAND EXPRESSED. This was during the time that most babies were NOT breastfed at ALL !!!!!!! My Mother would have to sit in the "ladies toilets" (sometimes even on a toilet) as she was NOT able to breastfeed in restaurants or public.

I think this is a beautiful thing she's doing and is able to do. Throughout history, wet nurses were commonly used when a mother's milk was in short supply and this is no different. And thanks to the internet, she's able to help SO many families who struggle to give proper nourishment to their little ones who wouldn't have known about this otherwise. 💞

Start pumping right away around the clock. The more u pump the more you will make. Be consistant to not get mastitis. And get hospital grade pump. I have the spectra pump its fraction of the price. Congrats on your babies!

My daughter was born critically ill with mitochondrial disease and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which caused her GI tract to shut down. She would become unable to digest each type of formula prescribed by her doctors about every 2-6 weeks. Because she was born early by c-section and was too small to breast feed, pumping my milk didn't sustain her needs past the time she was in the NICU (3 weeks). She thrived the best on donated breast milk from a milk bank where the milk is tested. It saved her life and carried her through well past the time she had to get a g-tube. She went on TPN after she had her pancreas removed until she had a small bowel and pancreas transplant when she was 4. She's 15 now and doing so much better than ever expected! She's on permanent tube feeding with specially "pre-digested" formula (which is done in a lab). Because she was able to get donated breast milk for so long she is alive today, so I thank anyone who provides this "service". What a beautiful gift.

I lost 750 oz of breast milk I pumped in 3 months during hurricane Florence. The electricity was out for over a week and all the milk in the freezer got spoiled. I was devastated because I wanted to donate it and also to feed it to my little babies. I also produced so much, that my two kids could not drink all of the milk I was producing. I’m happy you are doing what you are doing. You are certainly blessed with the ability to produce to help those little babies in need.
