There was a skill that you can learn from the boss goblin. I don't remember the name of the move, but when Rei goes into Weretiger mode, you can have one characters perform that move from the boss goblin. So this way, Rei will not attack any of his party members.

I beat this game years ago and its still one of my all time favorites. I remember using Rei, Ryu and Nina with that triangle formation with Ryu in the front. Tramsformed into Controllable Kaiser, Rei into weretiger and gave the healing job + Influence to Nina. Kinda Breezed through it.

+MeLexdy Tsk, balance is one thing this game REALLY does not have going for it. Nina's spell are garbage. Momo never gets her turn out in time to be a good healer. Peko hits like a baby no matter how much I try to pump him up. Ryu on the other hand is insanely overpowered but to his own detriment as he winds up having to carry the whole team because they're so incompetent. I give props for this game have a really unique story but cripes, it seems every time Capcom does something right, they have to screw up something else.

If i was smart, i would have pumped up Momo's attack and given her Shadowwalk which makes her massive attack actually worth it, as Shadowwalk can't miss ever. And used someone else for support. Then again, i like playing without any special plans. Makes it more fun personally.

Just one more tip, it could be very useful (sorry for being so boring...) To max your Int. stat to 999, (say that you have all 20 faeries in faerie village) set 15 faeries in faerie village to gift shop, and remaining 5 with best hunting ability to hunt for food. Leave f. village and go into random battles. Have 7 battles (no more no less). You don't need to fight, you can escape if you like, but you must enter 7 battles. Go back to f. village and collect your presents -- Fish Head!

@kingofbudokai I generally just apprenticed under whoever. I know how to abuse the masters in this game but i usually choose not to. Also the true "tank" of the game is Peco apprenticed under Fahl(+4 HP, +1 PWR, +3 DEF, -3 INT, -3 AGL) all the way from level 1. (Highest HP in the game, 50% counter rate, percentage based HP regen)

That really depends on how many times they stack. I mean look at the Shin Megami Tensei games. The main series has stacking buffs and debuffs... but they're anything but easy.

And last, one small tip: You can get 100% immunity to all elemental attacks (flame, frost etc.), as well as to psionics, status changes and death attacks. To achieve that, equip two Ivory Charms. You will also regenerate HP while walking and in battle.

took me 7 years of on and off trying to get the damn sword. best tip i can give, and only if your willing to risk death, is where Teepo was, you have a chance of finding 5 goo kings at once in there. may not be good chances, but you can beat more than one of them at a time you can improve on getting it that way.

I personally preferr good sprite work above 3d graphics in a way for the amount of personal touch that goes into every pixel. It's like hand drawn cartoons vs Pixar stuff. The Pixar stuff has lost it's novelty.. This series needs a remake so badly. Next gen console version with HD sprites and a TONN of extra gameplay!

@smashbrolink I started with 3 myself. The storyline from the previous games do not influence the understanding of BoF3's Storyline. They're fairly independent to the extent that they seem to be set in different universes (or as gameplay shows, timelines), just like the FInal Fantasy series. The only thing that they have in common is having a blue-haired Dragon character named Ryu and a Wing clan princess Nina.

She seemed to go pretty easy on you. It has been a number of years since I've played, but I remember getting hit a number of times which a fairly powerful spell where her body essentially opens up like a mouth - kind of grotesque looking. There is still another trick as one coaches Ryu's values best of all. Open everywhere gift stores in the fairy village and procure for you the skills Steal and Charm from D´Lonzo. After thirty fights you will get LifeShards. After fourthy fights you will get MagicShards. titan goo´s and ice toads contain LiveShards and in the teleportstation A there are undead monsters with capes (I don´t know the english name of that guys), they contain MagicShards.

@SeanK1212 She does alot of viscous attacks that if unprepared and not over stat/lvled you'll be in the fight of your life (like I was first time around). They include: Sanctuary and Venom. Sanctuary you just gotta be on the lucky side that she doesn't non-stop chain it. Venom can be repelled by certain status saving uhm...amulets? Gems? Accessories? My god its been so long since I've played, I forgot what that slot is called lol. Just remember that my first save against her was hell too!

for some reason Myria has me thinking that she's a reference to Lilith from the bible, she has mostly status inflicting abilities (Lilith brought illness to children and Myria's children is everyone in the world since shes the goddess) and she has something to do with Eden in the game and she kind of has a resemblance of a serpent. i'm guessing thats what gave them the idea of Myria.

The Chain Formation he's using gives everyone the speed of the point character, in this case Rei's speed. But it also lowers everyone's defense by 50% resulting in much more dmg than usual.

Here you go dude the simpliest way through ULTIMATE SHORTCUT: From the start, turn so that you're facing between the true and fake north stars (it should be 1 turn right from facing north). Now just walk in that direction until you reach the Oasis. Too easy, right?

stealing the apple? not really, you need to steal the apple first, so it will get pissed regardless. note that if your tank dies, you entire party is screwed. he goes for the tank NONSTOP. if you revive it, it goes down again. so if u miss a ressurect, u then got 2 guys to ressurect. meaning you gotta jack the apple, sword, and RUN. or kill it. your choice.

Well lol.. Ok let's try and break this down. Myria and Bleu (Deis) were both in BoF 1. Myria was dead or 'not revived yet' in BoF2 and Bleu was already about what 600 or 800? I forget what the game says..similar to Garr. BoF II was 500 years after BoF I , that's all I know..let's assume 600. BoF III takes place much later than II, at least triple the time ironically. So yah to break it down their both like over 2,000 YO (but not 9,000! - we learned not to insult Deis!)

I have both "Breath of Fire I" and "Breath of Fire II". I think they should remake the games suitable for the leading systems (PS3, Wii, X-Box 360, PSP, and the DS or the 3DS). But at the same time, make it into a trilogy game like "Metroid Prime Trilogy" where all 5 games are on each copy.

Myria is a joke if you save up a bunch of items throughout the game. I also think the Warrior accession with Aura is better... hit like 2500s with it. I normally buffed up Ryu with might and ginseng, then had him use an hourglass and just have at it. Wisdom Fruits on Ryu frequently because Aura is a lot of AP (20). But I had Myria killed in just a few short rounds.

@krzyxbne Momo is worth using yes. If nothing else she's good at support. And if you want to make her into a damage dealer you should give her Shadowwalk, as Momo has a really high base damage but low accuracy. (Shadowwalk never misses.)

You could do it like this... Steal Power Food from HobGoblins at the Factory and count battles (51 - 60)... In, let's say, 52-53 battes you'll be able to steal 30+ Power Food items. After that go to F. village using Flower ring near Dragnier and collect extra Power Food Items from faeries. That's how I did it. For Protein, do the same with Vulcans (61 - 70 battles and collect extra items...) That's how I did it. Also, use Charm to steal faster. The only bad thing is that counting is very boring.

It's realy hard to obtain this games here in US cause psx are sadly obsolite that's why im playing it right now with this.But its realy brutal thing if you can save anywhere in the game pressing F1 and loading it with F3.F2 to select a slot where you can load or save.

GOD (pun intended) SHE WAS HARD FOR ME! Course this was my first go around..didn't really use much walkthrough's - hell didn't even mentor Ryu till lvl 17 cuz I didn't know how and was right on target lvl (or below on some toons). Ryu 38 Nina 38 Garr 32 She worked me over both times, failed both times finally beat her the 3rd time after half an hour. She gets my respect as one of the hardest RPG bosses I've ever faced..again that could be cuz I'm usually overleveled on ones in the past.

I trained my Ryu to have much AP, only masters of magic (with the exception of D'Lonzo, to learn skill Steal, my other masters were Emitai and Giotto). I could transform into ANY dragon long, although he prefers transformations in Dragon Force(HP balanced, great attack and skill Focus). And the battle formation was the Chain Formation, with Rei in the group. Whenever we attacked first and all had extra turns.
